1h on back please!

Because Blizz still can’t figure out how to do weapon anchor points, can we please get an option to put 1h axes, maces and swords on the back? I know they can do it because I think monks do it?

Reasonable request. Demon Hunters use glaives, which are one handers, and they are sheathed on the back.

:upside_down_face:

Play a Monk, all their weapons are attached to the back… and NEVER EVER MOVE.

Even during a fight?

I just want to be able to use one-handed weapons on my Fury Warrior. That would look so much better than two large weapons with clipping issues.

It looks good, but a back scabbard is actually pretty impractical. There are youtube videos where they talk about it and the solutions, I don’t think knights used them much or at all in potential combat situations.

Yes, who needs sharp weapons when fists are all you need!

There are no scabbards in this game, weapons are just magically suspended from the back or the hips, so real life practicalities don’t come into it. If they did, the bigger issue would be dual wielding, which only really exists in fantasy.

I’m in favour of 1 handed weapons for Fury too, and I’d love to see the angle the two weapons cross reduced a bit on female Blood Elves. They should be consistent across all models, rather than the weapon tips sticking out way past the character on the Belves.

Dual wielding was actually around, unless you mean dual wielding 2-handed weapons then, yeah.

I mean dual wielding two of the same weapons, which is all we have in WoW. Read the article you linked where they confirm it’s uncommon and where it is mentioned historically, a dagger is the second weapon. Even the Japanese Niten Ichi-ryū style didn’t use two weapons of the same length.

Like twin handguns, dual wielding has been popularised in movies and video games despite its inherent impracticality. The most practical combination was a sword/weapon and a shield.

Monks carry weapons to let you know what they could do, but won’t because it would wreck the meta

=/=

I even allowed for that contingency in my post

So what are you trying to argue?

Absolutely.

WoW’s clipping problems are easily one of if not the most egregious graphical problem throughout the whole of the game’s history (fix the damn mage tower flail you lazy bastards!).

Also? Legion’s over. The stupid restrictive choking nonsense of the artifact weapons is good and dead - give us back our options and diverse playstyles. Not just for 1h Fury Warriors, but for 2h Frost DKs et al.

There are some one-handers in game that sheath on the back by default. I do wish it was a option that could be chosen instead of just being the rare one-hander.

You’ve…never played a rogue have you?

We’ve been asking for an option to sheath weapons on the back for years. WW Monks automatically sheath everything on their backs so the code is there. Why they won’t implement it as a player choice for all classes is beyond me.

different character poses and different ways how we hold our weapons could be options. I would love to hold my staff like some of my favorite fantasy characters, where the bottom tip of the staff is touching the ground.

I agree! I love how Brewmaster monks have their staff over their shoulder, I think you should be able to do that with all staff and polearms, personally.

I also agree that there should be a back or hip option for other weapons too.

I’ve been around for quite a many years and I still get weird feelings when I get on a mount and two large swords look like they are slashing into the back of my mount…poor creatures.

Didn’t some Vikings fight with two melee weapons in RL?

There are even daggers that sheath on the back. The zulgorub ones I think. I know cause I got the mog. This restriction makes no sense.
