Season of Discovery Class Tuning Incoming - April 16

Ya know, it doesn’t instill a lot of confidence in the devs understanding of the game when you nerf/buff abilities by 90/100% shortly after implementing them.

This is copium from your part , UA is ticking for max 97 base with 400 SP. Only in PvP I can see the debuff protection be good but outside of PvP it’s dog sh*t. Fire lock does so much more damage than even with demonic pact affecting most of your casters , it’s not enough collectively to trade off 300 more dps a fire will offer on the table.

Right now shadow lock only relies on a 4% procs from ruins to cast more shadow bolt… it feels bad af

It’s like 358 damage over 15sec, no way it ticks for 1k lmfao

It was a 90% nerf. You do the math, what spec in the game would still be okay if something they are forced to use got nerfed by 90%?

50% would even still be serviceable. 70% is drastic, and people would quit the spec over it. 90% is practically the same as a complete removal of the ability.

MAKE TRUESHOT AURA A RAID-WIDE BUFF. there’s no reason it shouldn’t be.

A BG nerf to Sham Rage mana regen would be great for ally participation

We’ve added one more change to what’s coming tomorrow:

Paladin

  • The mana return of Seal of Martyrdom has been increased significantly.

As the phases have progressed the value and effectiveness of Shamanistic Rage has increased, mana has essentially become a negligible concern for many horde raids utilizing multiple shamans in phase 3. However, the mana return of Seal of Martyrdom has been comparatively quite modest since the launch of Season of Discovery.

We’ve decided to significantly buff the mana return of Seal of Martyrdom to bring it in line with the mana return of Shamanistic Rage. We recognize that the current phase has seen casters’ power progression fall behind that of melee specs, so we don’t want to further increase that divide at this time. We also don’t want to hinder raid groups who made progress in the raid last week with a nerf.

In general, we feel that mana as a resource should matter, and in the next patch, we’re going to evaluate and tune-down mana return mechanics as a whole to ensure that there is still gameplay around managing it.

Thank you!

So when is Soul Link returning? If you want to make demonology matter and make felguard matter outside of just being a rune used for boosting return soul link and disable it for BGs. I don’t think anyone would complain if you JUST disabled it for battlegrounds. World PvP it wasn’t an issue due to how chaotic and how much damage everyone is taking anyway.

When are Mages gonna get buffed? You’ve left us in the dirt and ONLY ever nerfed us while giving whiney shamans and hunters the world. Would be nice to actually do damage again.

Soul Link removal killed all my hype for demo lock. Which is crazy because it wasn’t even the most played tank spec at all.

Any chance we can just have Tauren become Paladins and Dwarfs become Shamans?

Since last phase the gap between the alliance and horde have increased to the point I don’t think rune changes can balance faction specific classes.

Ret Paladins just became almost as mandatory as Feral Druids lmao.

Bro the mana return has rounded to 1 mana per hit since launch. “Modest”…you could literally buff it by an order of magnitude and the mana return would still be single digit mana regen for every member of the raid because the math currently is such that each hit restores less than 1 point of mana.

Clearly the devs play their game

You could always buff casters, instead of letting them rot

Would love to see what the actually metrics for the change will be? Is it a buff to the mana return in general or just the mana it gives to other party/Raid members?

Why people cry about shamans? If he can’t get to you he can’t do anything to you. They are worse gap closers than warriors, warrior at least have a charge, What is shaman going to do if he can’t close the gap between you? Are people that stupid that they could not figure out that you can dispel shaman buffs?

How about looking at mana regen and water? It’s been a serious issue since the start. Not playing the game is not fun and if people want that type of gameplay they have era.

Found the shaman lol

How about maybe opening up that sweet CS mana regen to the whole raid?

Or maybe shedding some light on the numbers being changed here? “A modest amount” is a really odd way of saying “barely any”. What does “significantly” mean here? should we be expecting this change to be roughly equal to the regen from shamanistic rage?
