It’s really eye-rolling how people underestimate what it takes to rank high in PvP. Seriously, many don’t even grasp basic skills like cross-CC or timing their bursts right. I personally gained so much rating once I got the basics down pat.
And guess what? I did it without any fancy addons, guild backing, or riding on the coattails of meta builds. Meanwhile, you’ve got folks whining about not getting their MMR handed to them on a silver platter.
If the vast majority of you just got better, you’d get more rating.

Looks like im number 645 on the leaderboards LOL
Yeah, youre exactly right. Since GCD and general ability CDs in place, wow has one of the lowest APM requirements out of any game. There’s a lot going on and a lot to learn about class interactions, but when you know what to do it’s significantly easier to get rating!
I genuinely believe that every player could get 1800+ if they just took a few minutes to look at their own gameplay and not make excuses.

No. It’s far easier to cry on the forums and demand MMR increases across the board.
I really despise this community.
I dunno, I don’t despise anyone. I think it’s “normal” competetive internet behavior. People would just rather blame design and systems or balance than themselves for making play mistakes.
Some of them don’t even know or recognize the mistakes they’re consistently making. Thats nothing to hate imo.

ive been playing this game far too long, its the same nonsense over and over and over again.
casual players want x y z. people asking to remove gear from rated pvp, they want increased conquest gains, they want classes nerfed/pruned.
its just non stop. there’s a reason the devs ignore the community.
Yeah, I’m basically top 3 assassination rogue and top 13 on all rogue specs on my realm (Illidan) with only 1950 cr
Just shows how deflated the thing is haha

deflated or…people are where they belong?
how do i check where i am on my server?
Yeah, a lot of it is very much, “you think you do, but you dont”.
Some people didnt want gear to matter at all. That removed the grind rpg element of earning gear and making your character stronger and people got upset.
Some people wanted pve gear to matter in pvp to make an easier transition. People understandably didnt like having to pve for voidstones or drestagath trinkets.
Some people wanted no conquest cap so you could farm all your gear instantly. That was almost universally hated.
Some people want templates, other people hate them.
Some people want the old shadowlands gear progression back, and im pretty sure almost EVERYONE hated that.
It’s crazy to me how basically every class/spec can have r1 viable comps and people will say “the game is so bad it’s so broken, every spec but mine is OP”.
It’s not to say that the game is perfect; it wont ever be and there will always be outliers. But 99% of forum complaints are just that- complaints with no direction. There’s nothing of value for any dev team in comments like that.

Go to CheckPVP, then go to Rankings and use the filter to only look for your class and realm.
Then go trough the list until you find your character. Also make sure that you first search for your name and click Update Now so CheckPVP has your latest cr

if i hadn’t played WoW as a teen/young adult, i’d honestly have a really hard time with all the chaos in pvp. the hidden tooltips, the basic understanding of DR, CC, and positioning would turn me off to figure out now - especially because the game is so absolutely visually cluttered (luckily something you can adjust in settings).
that is definitely a reason that the same players for 20 years have been top of pvp leaderboards end of every season.
buckle up because we’re gonna be seeing the same faces into retirement (not that we can retire
)

none of these are hard concepts, they’re in similar difficulty to elden ring pvp/pve.
its just wow players are generally a whiney group of people.
we’re reached a point where pvp is actually GOOD and there’s a balance for casuals/hardcore players.
in 15 years+ playing ive never seen people ASK for free rating tho!!
correct, they are not hard concepts, in fact learning those concepts in early WoW made me a better gamer because i looked for similar things in other games.
i’m just saying there aren’t good tutorials so it’s clear they’re just designing the game for us old farts now, which is fine.
the game isn’t intuitive to new players.
you know how we got better at the game 10 years ago? dueling outside stormwind.
