180 Ping to Frostmourne [OCE] but 30 ping in other games

Hey there,

I noticed that a couple weeks ago my game sits at 180 world and home ping consistently. It sometimes drops back down to 25-30 which is what I usually play on but it’s been happening for about a week now with no improvements.

When i test ping on other games such as valorant, league of legends, my ping is 30.

I tried pinging the OCE servers but it looks like its blocked as it doesn’t respond.

I’ve done a WinMTR test and you can see the results attached. It doesn’t really reflect the 180 that my game shows.

I’ve also cleared cache and WTF, and even reinstalled the game and the same issues still persist.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Some of the ISP nodes in your test are showing pings over 100ms in the ISP network, which are likely the source of the issue.

Yeah i did believe it was a routing issue. When I VPN to a server in sydney my ping lowers to 120. Currently speaking to my ISP about this but its not easy lol

Who’s your ISP?

Im on vodafone NBN and getting 150ms ingame for a couple days now. Everything else i connect to seems to work just fine though.

Sorry for the late reply, I am also vodafone. It seems like a server routing issue. Raised a ticket with them but still not fixed. Same as you, every other game is fine except wow, and my housemate has the same issue with Dota 2. If we use a VPN to change the routing it seems to lower our ping

Also with vodafone and for the past week in game ping has been at 150ms+ i have never had anything above 12ms. This issue is only happening in wow.

While it might be the only game you play experiencing this, Vodafone is aware of an issue on its network. As a customer, you’ll want to reach out to the ISP to encourage a faster fix.

Yeah my housemate was having the same problem with Dota 2 servers and as of today his is fixed so it does appear that they are working on it. Hopefully not too much longer now
