Ok, so don’t do it.
People talking about beta and I’m just like… “I member in alpha when we bullied the Tarragrue so hard that the devs just made him immune to all damage”
WTB an elevator because 18 floors is quite the flight.
I would like to have a “save” option to continue the next time/day when I log in. This is why I don’t run TC.
I have only gone through Torghast twice for the story so far. Initially, I was enjoying it, but if this is what I can expect, I think I’m gonna pass.
Yo don’t disconnect unless you’re more than 45 minutes afk, you can take breaks at floor 6, 12 or 18.
Sure i get it, they should maybe add checkpoints at the very least.
You can AFK for a total of 45 minutes, I’ve cooked, taken a shower or cleaned my house leaving my char at a rest floor (6, 12 or 18) while doing torghast. Having an alarm set to 40 minutes.
And you can do twisting corridors with a group of 5 players and get it done in 1 and a half hour, or 1 hour 45 minutes) and I’m talking about twisting corridors layer 7 and 8. That was the case with my main (Selennah, realm sanguino, europe).
I would say around 30 minutes to an hour tops. At least that has been my experience. That is complete game idleness.
Honestly, one simple tweak: letting you save where you left it, would make it so much better to the point where I would probably do it, and I think others would too.
Thanks to all for letting me know how long till it kicks me out.
Useful for it I ever decide to do it again, now that the quest is done…but I have doubts. It’s bad game design.
OH…NO…My Calling today wants me to do Torghast!!!
I’ve gone to finding it interesting week 1, passable week 2, and now I just can’t stand Torghast. If there was a good alternative to get soul ash, I would be all over it and abandon Torghast.
Agreed, this is supposed to be the challenging wing of Torghast that will take more commitment and effort. I knew it would take 2-3 hours. I waited until I had that time block available, then went in and did the 18 floors.
If someone is solely doing it for the Anduin quest, then do 1-6 three times and you don’t have to do TC again.
But the time commitment is part of the challenge. If you don’t enjoy the 18 floors, then don’t do the “challenge mode” of Torghast. I don’t like to Raid, so I don’t.
It’s bad game design.
Name me another game where you are literally forced to stay playing for 2-3 hours, without a save or pause system build in.
Like every Rogue-like game made? If you want to get to the end you have to continue playing. Sometimes that takes hours to achieve.
Stop posting this same thread every few hours.
High level dungeons in GW2. My husband and I would have to block off 4 hours to run the challenging dungeons. And that was a well-known and standard time frame to complete that dungeon, even for those who knew the mechanics really well.
Rogue-Like Doesn’t mean you have to complete things in a continual fashion, for hours, without the ability to save, pause, or leave and return where you picked up. See Hades, see Binding of Isaac. They don’t force you to keep playing non-stop where you have to block off hours to finish something in a setting.
The time to complete something isn’t the same as what is done in twisting corridors. You have waypoints, people can leave and join later if they want.
If you could save your progress at each brooker level for example, but lose it if you lost all lives, like a one life Diablo mode, it would be infinitely better. Alternatively, if I get logged out for being afk too long, put me back at the start of the floor, rather than being removed from the instance entirely. You can retain all of the challenge without forcing people to be chained to their computer.
Finished it on Boomkin, AMA
already done that in TC with my GF, stay at the start of a floor or in a broker floor (for us was in floor 9, also at the start of the floor you are inmune to things), press the key to keep running, run against a wall, come back in a few hours to finish it.
TC is 100% cosmetic stuff (well also it’s legendary recipe drops if you get the floor you want). If you don’t like it, don’t do it.
Just because you don’t like it doesn’t make it bad design. You can AFK in game for 45 minutes, and you start each floor in stealth. Plus the safe floor with the bubble. Lots of areas you could AFK
Technically that’s almost every MMO, but there are tons of games that don’t have one and or both of those. It’s not really a new thing to WoW.
If 1 layer of TC is taking you 2+ hours to complete, you probably need more gear. A 5ilvl difference in shadowlands is actually a big jump. Go get more gear and come back for an easier/quicker time once you have it.
For the recodr it’s the same 15 minutes as any other logout if you crash.
My internet went down last night for about 10 minuets on floor 18… nearly had an apoplexy.
