175,000 gold

thats how much its going to cost me to reassign just a single transmog that each of my characters were wearing yesterday which i had already paid for.

not buying extra slots or second outfits. no. just to put back on the clothes i was wearing yesterday on my existing characters.

this new system, its gross costs, and its implementation stripping away existing transmogs are pure robbery

its a dark pattern to encourage wow tokens and grinding

this is something fallout 76 would do

Weird, it cost me about 1750 for one character (THIS character, in fact), and I never have to buy a transmog again on them because of the new system. So you’re saying you have two full accounts full of characters and can’t find 175k gold?

That is wild

You’ve transmogged about…88 characters for 175k? Not gonna lie that sounds like a bargain when you think about it.

Not just transmogged about 88 characters, but technically those 88 characters now have a permanent transmog for LIFE for that. By the end of the first season, if they’re actively playing all 88 characters, they’d have saved probably triple that from this decision.

its 2.5k per character, i dont know what slots you’re hiding or ignoring to get down to 1750 but thats not what it costs me

I do have a hidden head slot…but I doubt the head slot alone is 750g.

Even so, 1750g for permanent transmogs, 2500 for permanent transmogs…some world quests give 3k, it’s a rounding error.

With the amount of bugs and newly broken stuff the game even feels more like 76. :dracthyr_crylaugh:

If the sky is falling, please cancel your sub so you don’t feel like you’re wasting your money. And, if you cancel your sub, remember to sell your gold via the token system so you can have it to come back some day.

i really do not understand where you apologists keep coming from. the team decides to suddenly milk you for tens of thousands of gold out of nowhere and you come out with banners raised and cheeks raw defending them

Well, it should cost a lot more if you have a different transmog for each spec, right? That’d be 7500g per character and 10000g for a Druid.

Yeah, thats not true at all. First 2 slots are free and maybe 1000-2000g to save your transmog. And then not only is the slot transmoggef and not the armor piece, so you never have to retransmog when you get new armor, switching is free after that.

I opened 13-14 slots (which opens for all your characters) and spent 80k maybe. Because it goes 100-260-500 up to 10k a slot.

Now I did think you could still transmog the old way and pay 1000+ gold every time, but I guess not.

It’s just gold. Plentiful and not actually real. But also, I’m not being milked. I’ve paid for my outfit and this is my look for a good long while. Unchanging, no matter what new items I equip. If at some point I feel like a new look I’ll save it to a different outfit slot, just in case I feel like coming back to this one. It will be literally years before I’m faced with the choice of changing one of my outfits rather than just saving a new one. The amount of gold I would spend on the old transmog in that same span of time is much, much higher.

I’m just baffled by the numbers here because they seem absolutely impossible. How many characters are you transmogging? Is it because you’ve got dozens of characters + making a bunch of outfit slots on each and every one, along with buying the slots? Does that not work out cheaper in the long run because you don’t have to retransmog every time there’s an upgrade?

Still that’s about 70 characters right, I mean yes if you want to dress up 70 alts it’s going to cost you the good thing is someone with that many alts should be rolling in gold just from normal play

People shouldn’t need to spend that much gold for what they already had. The fact that you are still spamming threads telling people that they are wrong is disturbing.

BlizZard can be wrong and have been wrong many times about decisions. This is one of them. The costs are too high.

Why does it feel like I only had to pay 1k for my outfits again? Is it because I already have the set saved previously?

IF they’re being remotely honest, yes. If someone is actively playing 70+ characters they’re probably making me look poor (and I’m not poor, I have a couple million stashed away in the warbank).

So if the sky is really falling for someone like that, they should cancel their subscription because money gets Blizzard’s attention.

If they’re honest AND correct, that will make Blizz act.

If they’re honest and incorrect, it will both get htem out of our hair and help them spend money on something they find enjoyable.

But I bet they’re not honest, and won’t do it.

I think a really simple thing that would have made this transition feel a lot better for everyone would have simply been making the first outfit save for each set be free. Then charge for changes after that.
