Actually, I went from 3440x1440 back to just full 4k.

Its great when the games support the resolution, but a lot of the time its not worth the hassle to get it working on games that don’t.

Bro, you’re really screwing my narrative here

Facts!

I joined the crew back in 2017! And I’m already with my second 21:9, but also dreaming with the Samsung Odyssey G9 XD.

I still play on a 4:3 1440x900 monitor. Tf is ultra wide?

How else can we watch anime and asmongold when we do legacy raid runs?
Based cow

Anime yes, Asmon, hell no.

But ya, I don’t have space for two monitors so I play pretty much everything in window mode and watch stuff on the side.

Your Welcome!

I mean, if we’re being technical, we all play in windowed mode.
Now answer the real question: 16:9 or 21:9?

Click and drag to whatever size I need in that moment.

I am on 16:9. But on Dual monitor.

When I want 4k, I also have a 65 inch LG OLED TV. I mostly used my LG TV when I play a 4k movie. I also played games like GTA V on it with controllers. I tried to play WoW on a 4k 65 inch TV but it’s awkward although I appreciate the crisp displays.

When I do Mythic+ and Raid, I prefer to use dual monitors instead… The left monitor for the game and the right monitor for music, to scan people’s rio and to play youtube videos like when I cant beat a Battle Pet game. LOL.

Think of your typical 1920x1080 monitors you’ve most likely seen at some point. Make one of those monitors about 1/3 wider. Boom, you have an ultrawide monitor. While it doesn’t provide as much screen real estate as a dual 1920x1080 setup, it can be a decent alternative for people that might not have the deskspace for a dual monitor setup. It’s also a nice alternative to 4K IMO as a rig that can do 4K at 60 FPS isn’t exactly cheap, but a jump to ultrawide doesn’t hit performance nearly as hard as 4K or dual/triple 1920 monitors.

The downside? Many older games won’t support 2560x1080 as a resolution. Expect to see pillarboxing in these cases. Even games that do support it for gameplay tend to have some pre-rendered cutscenes in 1920x1080 (The Witcher 3 comes to mind)

The other issue is that even if games do support ultrawide, the UI is sometimes an afterthought. WoW is one of those games that can benefit from ultrawide, but the base UI is clearly not made with UW in mind.

I haven’t played with the base UI since Wrath (I’m an ElvUI guy myself), but even if you’re someone that likes the normal UI for whatever reason, I’d highly suggest getting it resized/scaled for whatever resolution you’re running. I’ve got a buddy that plays WoW in 4K with the base UI, and yet for whatever reason he refuses to rescale the UI and has a comically small health bar/unit frames in the corner of his screen.

I honestly don’t know how he does it XD

But is your monitor 16:9 or 21:9? That’s not a hard question… XD

I was joking around.

I play on a laptop, with custom settings in game.

It feels kinda weird when i play wow on a big monitor, i got dizzy and very disoriented with big screens.

Thats why i am looking for ages for low res small monitor.

I dunno know why it happes it just happens

Yo o/

2560x1080 here xD
Purchased my ultrawide monitor 2 or 3 years ago and I can’t imagine myself going back to 16:9 anymore. Especially for my FPS games.

I’m looking forward to purchase a 32:9 monitor in the future, like the G9, that thing is a beast.

I play on whatever my 2010 laptop has and it’s window mode so I don’t have to wait for it to load the other windows when I need to google something.
