16 yrs no Alpha/Beta

I’ve gotten into a couple over the years, but I haven’t really even tried to get in the last couple of expansions. Something has changed for me, not just regarding video games, but just about every hobby I have - there’s such an overwhelming amount of “beta”-style content releasing these days that it feels like everything will be spoiled before you even get to play it, hold it in your hands, whatever. Maybe I’m just becoming an old fart.

Never once

Then you may haven’t reported enough. I know someone who got in because he reported like 200+ bugs during rise of azshara.

It’s not just logging in, doing quests, and reporting spelling errors.

You try going on the ptr and reporting bugs? If you’re not a high end player the next best thing would be to show you care about giving feedback/testing for upcoming content.

I’m not a man at all and I have beta.

I don’t think I’d like to get it every time… but once… once in 16 yrs would of been cool to experience… I can handle spoiling one xpac just to have experienced it for a game I really enjoy and have dedicated so much time and effort to.

You have a better chance right now of starting from scratch to become a “influencer/Streamer” and make it big enough to guarantee you get invited to every single future alpha etc…than you do randomly being invited in the future.

1: Be a content creator with a decent following, you’d get priority just for exposure’s sake.

2: Know someone who works at Blizz, or at least be friends with someone who has those connections.

3: Be lucky.

The first time you have to be lucky. After that submit good feedback and do good testing when you get in. I didn’t even apply for Beta this time and got an invite because of the “amount of quality feedback,” i submitted during BFAs beta.

To be clear, i don’t mean be a suck up, i mean report actual problems and reasonable suggestions and fixes.

I agree. You’ve been rather unlucky. Have you tried any of the billion giveaways for beta keys that have been going on?

But I don’t multibox and only play on weekends…how did I manage to get in the last 3 betas?

I’ve done some, followed streamers when i could, also tested that mobile game RAID that a streamer had going on for a chance to win one… lol

Well, I’m glad to hear you’re trying for more chances. Lots of people complain about not getting beta, but don’t try giveaways/bug reporting in PTR/getting CE

Wow, only 16, wowzers, you are young my mans.

I am 18. No Alpha/Beta.

Yea, I’ve done some bug reporting but probably no where near as many as what one post mentioned above… So maybe something to work on lol

Well, no one has let you in on the secret, OP, but I will, because I’m a good cow.

You need to appease the gods to be granted a beta.

First, you must appease the RNG gods by performing daily sacrifices of gnomes (real ones, not those mechanized monstrosities, and not the Loa of Cookies, because he’s a good gnome).

Second, you must appease the Blizz gods by sending them boxes of cookies and edible arrangements, so that they have the required sustenance to make the game and keep it going, which is necessary given how poorly they are compensated and because they are employed by a small indie game development company.

If you do both those things on a daily basis, you will be rewarded with beta access! Don’t tell anyone that I let you in on the secret, or else the powers that be will come after me and make me the featured participant in a BBQ.

/moo :cow:

lol Indeed… only if you were only as young as the game you played :stuck_out_tongue:

Hey man, most people that have been playing this game played for more years than I am self-conscious. Back in 2005 I was 4 years old just playing all day long with my neighbor >.>.

I missed a magical time “sigh”.

lol yea, the 16 yrs refers to how long its been out, that’s coming up on how long ive been playing :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah, I know, I tried to make a joke there but it sounded waaaay better in my head.

Unsurprisingly, I made a miscalculation.
