So disagree with a fact. All good. They’re as much of a reason for the state of the game as anyone that complained. That’s just clear as day fact.
Fact? Sorry but the reason BfA is so far removed from Classic that it has no world PvP, has instanced battlegrounds and duelling locations (arenas), safe spaces, no drama and no forced social requirements outside 1% of content is moreso due to people having a whinge that every negative interaction is harassment or griefing and demanding bans. Less so due to people running around standing on totems annoying streamers for lols. The latter is Vanilla to a T.
Its not a minor nusiance. 100k people cant see what is happening.
It was an awesome event. I hope streamers are able to host more of these community events. The only issue so far has been idiots trying to grief and troll like in Cdew’s duel against Seren. A few random level 1 Tauren were purposefully standing and sitting on Cdew’s totems, which interfered with Seren’s ability to target and kill them. I still think Cdew would have won that duel either way, Windfury shreds clothies, especially at that level.
I’m so sick and tired of streamers and streamer events being babies having to stream everything and be a part of everything.
For reals. If I’m in a dueling tournament, I’ll have every attack packed into a macro.
/target ‘player name’%
/cast charge (or frost bolt or whatever)
But that’s the brilliant thing about streaming and those events. You really don’t have to participate or watch it. You don’t even need to read threads or comment about it.
It’s the only thing being streamed or talked about.
I went outside, I made a batch of Rhubarb Jam.
I just got done eating some with crackers.
I gotta say venruki derserved the win after seeing his match with cdew. His spacing was flawless in the last 2 duels and cdew barely got off any auto hits on him.
This tournament was a fantastic idea and the viewership it pulled really puts Blizzard to shame when it comes to their own e-sports stuff. What is also a shame is that trollgodx was apparently removed from the beta. I fail to see how what he did was griefing when kiting world bosses to cities is not. Both are disruptive to players engaged in other activities are they not? I personally have no issue with either activity. Kite bosses wherever you want. It’s part of the game. And so is having people stand on top of you, your totems, the mailbox, whatever. If, after 15 years, you haven’t learned to click something with another player standing on top of it, I suggest you git gud.
Remember not to use Twitch metrics to determine popularity of a game too much. There are less than 1k people currently watching The Sims 3 but over 5k people playing it through Steam alone. Twitch does not always equal popularity.
That’s not a whole lot. Decent numbers I guess
So what you are saying is there are going to be over 1million people playing WoW:Classic using those numbers?
It was a nice tournament to watch. Can you believe others on the forums are raging that it was done because “tOUrNAMenT for REAL-Life CAsh wAs aGaINsT TOS”
154k would be watching those streams regardless.
Everyone did deal with Trollgodx/Trollgody being trolls for a majority of the tourney. Most even found it very funny Trollgodx made it to the “secret location” before a lot of the competitors. I believe their presence moved from a funny troll to a irritating hindrance when the stakes got high. There was $2000 on the line and having those 2 removed was justified. Also, they were not banned… just removed from the zone so the tourney could finish.
The situation requires a bit of nuance.
Tips and the streamers expected some trolling. There were other people messing around, but trollgod was intentively messing with the duelists for around 3 hours. They moved locations, he followed. That is harassment.
Kiting bosses and harassment are not the same thing.
Asmongold even said himself that if he had kept terminus kited in SW for hours on end that he should be banned.
There’s trolling, and then there’s harassment. If you cant discern the difference then you’re irrational.
Also just because someone is broadcasting their gameplay doesn’t mean that the attention they attract means they deserve to be harassed. And again, there is a difference between trolling and harassment.
but at least wow hobbs got into the beta you know the guy who hasn’t played wow in years
So we all know what side your on in the raid on player who died back in the day event.
Good, because sandbox games are lame. Blizzard did right by intervening because that player wandered outside of Blizzards undefined, arbitrary “fun-on-rails” borders.
Instead of forcing people to adapt to actions people make in a sandbox, let’s coddle players. I mean that’s what made Vanilla great, right? The coddling helicopter mom Blizzard making sure everyone is playing their way and having fun™?
