15 man UBRS?

Just curious if UBRS is the 10 or 15 man version and same for stratholme and scholomance if they're still a raid.
Just trying to work out gearlists for when classic wow comes up.

They're releasing Classic as 1.12, so it's most likely to be 10 man UBRS and 5 man Strat and Scholo.

I have a feeling they will end up giving us the 10 man UBRS and 5 man Stratholm / scholomance.

I would rather they give us the original pre-nerfed versions with the brutal fast respawn timers and harder hitting more populated mobs / packs.

Unfortunately there are those who though double talk say "vanilla is easy" meanwhile when you bring up pre-nerfed content they tell you you're being selfish and trying to exclude people.

The truth is, the only thing these people care about is raiding Naxxramas.

Sweet, I'll just have to put DM as a maybe though coz it has a lot of catchup gear.
I'd prefer the prenerf versions as well but if not its some more pre raid stuff to get easier I can't complain.
The whole nochanges is what imo makes 1.12.1 a bad patch to just start in yeah everything's available which is great but the catchup mechanics added trvialise ubrs/lbrs Strath scholo mc ony bwl zg aq20 and world bosses, if they aren't itemizing or tuning you're gonna think vanilla was easy and not realise that blizzard has been nerfing stuff since the beginning to make it accessible to more people. Obviously naxx and the end of aq40 didn't get nerfed but I'm sure they'll be fixing 4 horseman to have visible void zones and all the other fixes that in turn nerf the encounter.

During the panel they mentioned that they still had a lot to do, and listed Capital Cities, Dungeons & Raids, and PvP as areas still to be worked on.

I do have the unfortunate sense they may go with the "we couldn't find data from 1.# so you're getting the 1.12 version" excuse

Pretty much this. Which is unfortunate, but at least they will still be the full dungeon rather than the shortened, simplified versions of later expansions.

They actually said this at the beginning of the panel. It wasn't stated in that way, but that 1st part of the panel, was basically a long form version "We could only get the 1.12 data."

Indeed. They explained that, before 1.12, they would simply overwrite the old patch data, leaving nothing to be archived. Anything pre 1.12 is lost to the ages.

They haven't gotten to dungeons and raids yet, so it is possible they could still make adjustments. However, they've also said they didn't want to mess with the data to avoid messing with balance.

That's the problem though there is no balance in nerfed content it's nerfed. :(

The original 15 man UBRS is still one of the most difficult challenges I've ever faced in WoW.

This also provided the best experience. Tough and tactical dungeons where you had to be methodical rather than simply zerging through them in a horde. This also meant groups would attempt to do the quests because they could no longer follow the path of least resistance.

UBRS though was also tough when it was 15 as it was designed to be a raid. The others were designed for 5.

I was constantly leading pugs of UBRS when it was 10 man. I look forward to doing it again.

Not saving the old data in its perfect form i can believe. We don't do it either. Haha.

Their nonsense about old code though was rubbish.
I remember doing Scholo and Strath with 15 right as people were hitting the level cap, and they were still really tough.

Raiding 5 man dungeons like scholo and strat was done for the sake of gearing up. 5 manning was much more challenging and done to complete quests. If they remove the option to raid them, it only makes gearing up harder, so not exactly a nerf. I don't remember the dungeons becoming easier as a 5 man after the change, but it's been a long time so I could be wrong.

vote 'no' on the 5. i'd prefer 10. but as long as they try to do something about 40, i'd be ok with up to 15 too. great learning step and some of the best early guild times with friends can be had in that place.
I vote 15 PURELY because back in vanilla I ran that place like 50 times.

15 man group every time.

And a full clear every time! I had the UBRS ring key (which was rare on my server) so I lead the runs and wanted the Breastplate of Valor from the last boss.

It never dropped...

The Original. But I can't imagine people happy with Classic wanting to spend hours and hours in an instance.

Well looking at patch notes 1.3.0 which introduced Diremaul and also capped dungeons/raids scholo/strath were set to 5 mans and ubrs/lbrs was capped at 15.
this is the content patch we start with.

It wasn’t capped to 10 players until patch 1.10.0 when they introduced Dungeon set 2, this is also when they capped scholo/strath/brd to 5 players.

So assuming they’re going with content patch 1.3.0
we will get 15 man ubrs/lbrs, 10 man scholo, strath and brd.

If they cap them at 10man and 5 man then we would assume to see the higher quality loot.

Where did you get this idea we’re starting with the 1.3 patch?

We’re starting on 1.12 with most of the end game content locked out at the start, which they will later release in batches.

patch 1.3 is when diremaul was released, its the highest content we will have available at launch.

the mechanics of classes/bug fixes etc will definitely be 1.12 i’m not disputing that i’m talking about the content available is 1.3.0 only so i’m assuming it will be setup like 1.3.0 for balancing reasons.
