130 FPS Drops to 30 FPS every 5 seconds or so

I have a ASUS ROG which is only a year old, cost me almost 2 grand. Lately somethings definitely changed. Every 5 or so seconds my frames drop from 130ish to 30-60 then back up within a second or 2 causing a lag spike. I noticed this after i updated windows and thought that was the problem but i even totally wiped my PC back to the manufacters build, reinstalled wow, cleaned updisc drives, tried everythign you name it. The game is on the lowest settings and still having these issues.

Could this be a problem with something internally like the motherboard?

Someone also mentioned thermal throttling? is there any way to fix this?

If its occurring even after a full reinstall of Windows then overheating may be the case. We’ll need to check the temperatures and for that we recommend using HWMonitor. You’ll want to run that for about 10 minutes while you’re having issues. From there take screenshots of the info in the program and upload them to an image sharing site like imgur to link here.
