Well since factions are basically gone. Why not converse with each other in a unifying language? I mean, technically, the orcs and humans have always been able to communicate with each other since vanilla and before that in lore.
Now that faction doesnt play a role anymore, no need for the barrier. Unless theres something else at play.

Guarantee they won’t give ample explanation as to why Velves are able to walts into Silvermoon. If they dedicate a bit of meaningful dialog as to why Theron is okay with it, then that’s a continuation of lore.
If they just change Silvermoon to a sanctuary with no mention of the events that took place with Alleria (spelling?) then it’s retcon.

I am honestly leaning towards the former. Silvermoon was originally planned on being destroyed in BFA. But for several reasons, all content related to warfronts and the faction war got cut/scrapped.
Midnight might be revisiting the idea of destroying Quel’thalas. I mean, why would we need to unite all elves when they are doing relatively fine on their own? A void invasion targeting the Sunwell, and succeeding. That’s why. Also, the logo for Midnight kinda looks like the Sunwell turned into some kind of void portal. But maybe that’s just conjecture on my part.
But the expansion is called Midnight after all. Which is often synonyms with destruction. I am sure you have heard of the term “minutes to midnight” before. If not, it relates to the destruction of the world, usually through mutual nuclear annihilation.
So yeah, the “rewamp” is removing the quel’thalas area from the world map.
