Some friends are returning to wow and want to play alliance. I want to play with them, but am horde.
I want to faction change and xfer my toon but I don’t feel super comfy with spending the money to do so right now. I am also terrible at making gold!
So my question is if I use the shadowlands boost on a new alliance druid, what would I lose from my current toon?
I keep the mage tower appearances right? I just lose all my essences and rep plus character specific achievements?
Also is there still some benefit to leveling to 60 before applying the boost? IIRC you get professions boosted if you apply a boost to a toon at or above 60.
You should keep any transmogs and achievements (though, while you can re-earn achievements you got already, you completely lose credit for unearned achievements). Due to a change back in 8.1, while you reset all your reps, you should be able to use any account-wide items that require reps (like toys or tabard transmogs), if you purchased them already. You also lose out on quest progress, so you’ll have to re-do entry questlines for certain zones like Argus or Mechagon.
Since BfA re-did professions, there is no longer any difference between boosting a level 1 character or a level 109 character (for a 110 boost).
I am not sure I understand. If you boost a new toon your current toons wouldn’t lose anything. Your access to anything that is horde specific would be gone on the new toon because it is alliance.
