Alliance. Just hit 120 and want to start the cloak quest but no clue what it is called or where to start. Any help plz? I have ready like 8 sites trying to find out and I just don’t understand well enough where to go just to start it.
Continue your faction’s war campaign until you unlock Nazjatar and the Heart Forge.
The opportunity for the cloak will then open up.
Note: You don’t actually have to GO there, you just have to get to the part where it’s an option.
The cloak quest is “An Unwelcome Advisor.” Once you follow Ekon’s advice, you can follow the Black Empire campaign in your quest log.
Edit: I think all you have to do in Nazjatar is open the portal.
To start the cloak quest chain:
- Unlock World Quests. The quest you need to complete for this is “Uniting Kul Tiras” (A)/“Uniting Zandalar” (H). On your first 120, you’ll need to do the 3 foothold quests to unlock the boat travel to the 3 zones of the other faction for this quest to be available.
- Unlock Naz’jatar. The quest should pop up once world quests are unlocked. If not, you should be able to get it on the boat. The quest to start it is “The Wolf’s Offensive” (A) / “The Warchief’s Order” (H).
- Complete the quest chain to unlock essences. Magni will show up with the quest “Essential Empowerment” in Naz’jatar once you’ve established your base there. The final quest needed in that chain is “Harnessing the Power.”
- The start quest for the 8.3 questlines should pop up the next time you enter Boralus/Zuldazar (or relogging can trigger it.) The quest is “An Unwelcome Advisor” (A) / “Return of the Black Prince” (H).

Thank you for this, but I am still a tad confused…So right now my quests are:
War Campaign
-Continue the campaign by accepting the quest “The Ongoing Campaign” in Tiragarde Sound.
and also have Stormsong Valley 5/8 Chapters (with like 8 subquests).
Are both of these required for me to progress? Do I need to do both? These are all I have.
If this is your first ever level 120, you will need to go to the boat in Boralus and
You need to have your three footholds placed on Zandalar. One in Vol’dun, one in Nazmir, and one in Zuldazar.
So in those 3 zones, is it a long quest line in each? and can I stop doing Stormsong Valley stuff?
The foothold quest chains each take 20-30 minutes each, so they are pretty quick. You can easily tell which ones are done by talking to the captain of the boat. If they have the option to travel to a zone (that isn’t a quest) then you’ve done that one.
As for the Kul Tiran zones, you need to get your reputation up to friendly with the factions for each of the zones, so you will need to do some of the quests in each zone. If you are friendly with Storm’s Wake, you might want to put finishing Stormsong on hold and move onto the other zones. (If you want flying or to unlock the Kul Tiran allied race, you will need to finish the main story for each zone, but you just need friendly rep for world quests.) Just as a quick warning, when you start Drustvar, you won’t get any rep at the start, but then once you get to the point in the story where you form the Order of the Embers (which is the faction needed) you get a big chunk of rep very quickly. So, at first is seems like you’re making no progress towards friendly and then Bam! Done!
