11's feel like I'm doing 2's again

Maybe it’s the weekend effect or something but man it is rough seas out there in the pugging world.

I don’t claim to be a better player than pugs because I mess up too. But recently it seems like people are making the kinds of mistakes you’d expect to see in low keys. It’s crazy to watch.

I’ve failed, like… I think five 11’s in a row, between yesterday and today. One of them was because of me. But mathematically I’m not over-represented in that: 5 runs, 5 party members, and I messed up 1 of those 5 runs.

What is it with this key range lol

It’s due to the bulk of players sitting at 12+ now, especially with the resilience mechanic. All your left with in that bracket is the bottom of the barrel players that can barely make it through a run, let alone on time.

I’m sure it is frustrating. But remember, those bad players that the top people always complain about pay a subscription which the company needs to keep this product alive. Without those “bad players” the top people wouldn’t have a game to play because the top players don’t pay enough in subscriptions to keep the lights on.

All the decent players play in the beginning on the season, then they leave or move up to higher keys

I think some overestimate certain groups of players, from what I have seen there are a few different kinds of M+ runners:

  1. those that hit the floor running and get into high keys or get what they want from M+ then quit
  2. those that pace themselves and just set goals of certain things, like KSM/KSH/KSL by season’s end. This is my personal group, this is also the group that can easily have players that are KSH by this point (again, me) or have ones not even KSM yet
  3. Those that don’t recognize that some people need certain levels of keys to practice, like they have a route that works for a 10, but not an 11 or an 11 but not a 12, at least not without tweaking.
  4. those that try ti jump off the deep end, and might make mistakes due to panic or others doing things differently then what they are used to.

Getting to that point where the fail upward crowd is catching up to the 10-11 range.

Hence why I like to make sure I, if not my group, has at least a timed key of the previous level, like no way am I even attempting an 11 if I don’t have a 10 timed, outside my own key for practice.

I’m slightly OCD. I like to clear every dungeon in a range (usually about a 2 key range) before moving onto the next. Meaning I can go 2-4-6 and farm the 6-8 range until i’m maxed on gilded and full set of hero gear, but i like to round out my IO score, and i do that by completing every dungeon in said ranges before moving onto the next

I am slightly the same, like I am doing 9 on flood, but have cleard 10s on all others, and an 11 on rook, so it is 12 for rook, 9 on flood and 11 on all others

My mindset is all 10s before even applying for an 11.
Although I did clear a 12 Rook (didn’t realize it was a 12) when i was trying to flesh out my 11s

Thing is tough, both of us suffer to an extent if we draw a bad selection with PuGs, which can be caused by, like you said,

Yup. Normally I get caught in that crowd about the time I hit 10s myself due to limited play time. Fortunately I had most of week 1 of the season off, so I was able to push my IO to 2k in that first week and now i’m trying to work my way through the 13s (2 down, 6 to go)

Score is not relative to previous seasons. 3k this season is like 2.6k last season. I have people dying to ToP 15 last boss frontal 4x in a row - it’s incredible.

You just have to queue for the next one, time spent feeling bad about it is time spent not winning or improving

If you noticed a mistake of your own try to note it so you do better next time :scream_cat:
