Posting to show support for a fresh SOM. The first one came merely months after TBC launched, when Classic was barely done. It’s been over two years now, I think this round would be a lot more succesful.

Power growth, power progression… call it what you want. The game is different 4 years after launch vs. on fresh where you have hordes of people in all of the leveling zones… a fresh economy / professions… that extends to PVE and PVP… if you can’t see the difference between fresh launch and joining and playing post naxx then you have no business discussing this.

It’s still all there. No toons exit the character creation menu differently than those made in 2019. Level up, skill up, rep up and gear up to your heart’s content.
The economy isn’t really a driving factor for fresh.
Sure the economy starts from 0, but it’s never what players are actually wanting fresh for

Any of the 20+ non free Xfer realms can provide you this if the Whitemane/Mankrik markets aren’t suitable.

Its not even dismissive, what’s dismissive is disputing the differences of fresh vs. existing server as if they are menial or not experience altering. It isn’t even remotely close to the same thing and you know it.
Fresh launch follows roughly linear timeline in terms of gearing and power progression that is not replicated on existing servers. On existing servers you also do not see the same gear competition that exists in fresh because 90% of the people you have been playing with already have full bis from MC / BWL / AQ / Naxx. PVP is a completely different experience… on non fresh servers you miss the launch of BG’s… you miss the rush of everyone doing AV for months to grind rep for the pre raid bis items you can get…
You can sit on here and debate all you want, you probably are smarter than me… but come on man… its not that much of an ask.
Why didnt Wotlk classic launch with ICC / Ruby Sanctum out? Why didnt TBC classic launch with BT / SWP out? you know why… because its a completely different experience playing before everything is released vs. after everything is released.
u realize the economy of fresh will be ruined in a month by bots. the whitemane economy is very inflated yeah but the other servers are fine
Okay, the economy will suck either way… but that doesn’t take away the fact that it is a fresh economy with much more at stake and much more to gain than an existing economy for someone coming into the game with no money.
It’s much more volatile.

You are using the free transfer clusters as a basis to make sweeping generalizations of all other (20+) Classic Era realms.
Nonsense. There’s hundreds of AVs going and countless players still grinding those rep rewards, dungeon groups too.
Yes, it is. I will give you the benefit of the doubt and guess you didn’t participate in either SoM or the ‘Fresh Start’ experience of Wrath. You need to understand that these freshers have been whinging incessantly for years now, demanding their every need be met and all the while trash-talking the Era community which has been patiently waiting for their longstanding grievances to be heard.
Then, once Blizzard finally caves to the freshers’ demands and launches multiple seasonal/‘Fresh Start’ realms, they cannibalize each other through a purity death-spiral of transfers, all the while decrying their realms are either ‘dead’ and should be prematurely terminated (SoM) or are no longer F R E S H (17 & 3 day old Skyfury/Angerforge). These fairweather freshers don’t care about the long-term health of the game, which they admit to being ready to dump 2 months into clicking that ‘Enter World’ button. Blizzard has bent over backwards for the freshers’ unending, irrational whims.
Enough.
If they want a Third Times The Charm moment, they can take a number and head to the back of the line.

Then… what is the difference? Read my post, what am I missing that a fresh server would provide?
That certainly is not my experience, since Era is filled with people re-rolling, levelling alts and re-subbing. Most of the 60s I see running around are still in ramshackle dungeon blues. Seems like once most players hit BIS they throw it in and start again.
Or just hire 1 GM to ban bots and don’t hamstring the game? Heck, they could elect community sheriffs with elevated reporting/banning powers from the community to do it and not even pay. lol
You are putting a lot of trust and confidence into random WoW players lol, even with vetting/qa of said players.
But yeah, gold standard would be have three gm’s per server cluster working 8hr shifts each and being given a livable salary but Bobby won’t have any of that.

They cant make fresh servers without shutting down the current era servers. Fresh servers will not survive otherwise because peeps will just transfer to established servers or go back to established characters on those servers.
Thats what happened with fresh wrath servers.
