Didn’t we agree #nochanges is gone? Out of all the changes that have been implemented already, giving +380 AP or 10% damage increase to hunters is hardly going to compete with other classes on the meters.
No, we didn’t. It was expressly stated that class balance would not change for the 1.12.1 incarnation of classic. That’s why it was classic.
When you open the door to class balance changes it’s no better than playing retail. It’s no longer an accurate representation of the game it’s meant to be.
We were told that the game would be 1.12.1 on the modern client and as close to vanilla as possible. These are bugs in that vein so I reported them.
Idk, even the best private and classic hunters have said the class isn’t working correctly when it comes to using feign death, managing pets, trapping, and casting aimed shot. I would bet they would argue that 1.12.1 is an unjust representation of their class where they are forced to use macros to get a somewhat playable version of a classic hunter that works every other time.
I don’t mind if they get tossed this bone as compensation. But hey, the whole “true” classic experience vs the “spirit” of classic has been so muddy in the last year, I’m fine with the dev’s decision on this if it was on purpose.
The way the batching was done in Vanilla had to be different, the RNG also has to have been different in Vanilla because my Warrior alt crits a lot more than he should, and my rogues all crit a little less than they should.
The way they do RNG stun resist vanilla vs “blizz classic” has also gotta be different because in vanilla I was able to play effectively Cold blood prep, and in “blizz classic” the orc stun resist racial is hyper active and effectively ruins the spec for alliance. Yes it can be played effectively, but if you also play horde and compare and contrast the two, its very easy to see how different it really is.
The way vanish would reliably immune and cancel spells in Vanilla is not 100% duplicated here, because in vanilla late vanilla like 1.11 / 1.12 you could reliably vanish a mid cast chain lighting, but in Classic it does not cancel the in progress cast. Vanish only seems to cancel spells that have a travel time or are channeled, but if the spell has no travel time (projectile) then it will not cancel the spell.
Ditract I do not remember clearing my combo points in Vanilla, and here in Classic if I use Distract while on an enemy to prevent NPC’s from pathing into a group the combo points on my target will drop. Here is the real kicker no pun intended, if I change targets to kick a target my combo points drop, but if I use a mouse over kick on a target then I can kick the target and not drop combo points, the same behavior is also this way with blind in Classic, and was not this way in Vanilla.
To make things even more crappy for classic, you can install addons that show you the enemy players buffs without detect magic and that’s just game breaking. You can also install addons that change specific class character name plates so they are easy to target and see.
There are so many dumb things allowed by bugs or unfinished detail work on the Classic wow API.
Well the devs aren’t actually changing the mechanic-they are acknowledging that there was a glaring “bug” that was present in the game then, and still is now, that was stopping a mechanic from working the way it was intended to; large part of that was the limitations of the actual client back in the day.
I welcome such a fix as I would other fixes for other classes; no point in having “broken” abilities/mechanics for the sole purpose of “this is how it was back in the day”
From what I’m being told, Kevin Jordan said that it was a direct decision for all the AP buffs to not give rAP as a design choice to not make hunters able to 1 shot people from 40+yrds away. Anyone know where that direct quote is?
