Undermine felt perfect. War within’s theme is about exploring the deep depths of Azeroth. Goblin Society is one niche that has never been touched in. Midnight will likely be more void focused, hence the name.
If you say so. Undermine is not really holding my interest lore wise, the zone is one of my least favorite ever. I am looking forward to other themes in future patches
Personally, I would be ok with another 2 weeks of no deep dives into 11.2.
After that, let the flood gates goooo.
I think TWW was a great cue to add in Undermine, and it did a good job in giving a “break” from the main story (while still adding something to it), which is something that Midnight will probably need in 12.1 as well (and I predict that it will be Rootlands for that).
Of course, the theme is pretty much polarizing, and that’s fine. While you didn’t like it (I personally was not a huge fan of it either), there’s a lot of people who loved that, especially because it expands lore on a race that we rarely see taking a spotlight.
I just don’t think we needed a “break” from the
main story. The worldsoul saga was pitched as a story told over three expansions, but it feels like chapter 2 was filler, which isn’t very promising.
And midnight, which promises less polarizing themes, definitely should not need a break in 12.1.
I’m speculating, of course, since we don’t know objectively what’s in it yet, but they’ll need something to make the expansion less “Void one-note”.
Content’s gonna be a little light over the summer. Unsubbing and doing some gardening isn’t a bad idea.
We’re not in chapter 2 yet, this is still chapter 1, the problem is, they leapt into conflict… which when you’re writing in three parts would usually be saved for the middle part, I can’t see them resolving the entire plot in part 1… cause if they do what is left plot wise for Midnight and lastly Last Titan?
In a story the conflict and climactic resolution are meant to typically be the highlight, the thing most folks waited through the entire movie/book for, if we get it started now it’s going to be a looooong drawn out plot point and will lose some edge for it.
