11.2... When can we expect some information about it?

Please somebody correct if I’m wrong:

So, Undermine(d) was revealed early December 2024, just with 11.0.7 going live, which was a roughly 2 month wait time for its release in February 2025.

I wonder if we can take something like that to predict a 11.2 reveal/release estimate?

11.1.5’s Dastardly Duos is set to june 3rd and lasts through 6 weeks. That estimates July 15th, however we still have 11.1.7 to go. If it launches that day, we could think that 11.2 is 2 months away, probably around mid-September? That still counts as summer, I suppose.

11.1.7’s release, going by Undermine(d) logic, would be when we find out what 11.2 is about with a reveal event and PTR shortly after.

Thoughts? Would this be correct thinking? I feel that all the way to September is kinda a long wait, unless 11.1.7 is packed with something really interesting, since it has “new content” written on its roadmap.

yea thats pmuch the exact way undermine was predicted. patch cycles are very similar to dragonflight and you can guess the date well ahead of time. season 1 tww - season 2 was 175 days, if you do 175 days from march 4th it lands you on aug 26th. realistically more like a mid september launch but end of august makes sense too

If 11.1.7’s new Content turns out to be a Zone I would hope it’s the lead-in to 11.2’s Zone.

Looks at raid numbers…

Damn, those are low.

Speaking only for myself I am fine with abit of delay until the next season. There is still alot of stuff I wand to do that I haven’t been able to because of real life interference. But again, that’s just me.

I’m over the goblin theme, next story chapter can’t come soon enough

are you ready for a void theme for an expansion and 1/3?

Season 2 is not going to be 32ish weeks long. No.

I thought that would be unreasonably long. But it’s what it looks like based on what we know so far, unless 11.1.7 overlaps with Dastardly Duos, which… why not?

Depending on what 11.1.17’s “new content”, if the level of engagement is the same of the Siren Isle (stuff that you can leisurely do 1 day and be good for the rest of the week), then I don’t see an issue with content overlapping.

There’s ~6 months in between tiers.

Undermined released in February, meaning 11.2 is likely in August. So we’ll likely see a PTR internal pop up sometime next month, with the reveal in June.

However, we’ve seen they’ll delay or even push things up if the patch release ends up coinciding with a game they think would compete with attention.

So if FF14 announces 7.3 for the same week, for instance, before they reveal the date for 11.2, they would likely either push it back or push it forward so the two patches aren’t competing.

Release date for .2? Probably depends on when the next expansion is shaping up. Like if they think they can hit a winter release then I’d expect next tier to be July/august. If they’re stretching it then probably mid september. Which would then allow for midnights release to be late spring or even summer.

As for information? Probably see a .7 ptr within a couple weeks, I’d expect info on next tier to be within the next month.

Is tww confirmed at three tiers though? Like I know they’ve said no recap season but have they discounted the idea of a 4th tier? Like maybe not even a full tier, but if they did something like ruby sanctum as a segue into the expansion, would be kind of cool throwing out a 1/2 boss raid to hype up midnight story. Like an example with fall of dalaran could’ve easily been a mini raid.

Didn’t this already pop up shortly after Undermines launch?

It’s possible - I haven’t been paying too close to the WoW news lately. Interest is waning with how unfriendly Blizzard is making pet collecting lol.

Basically this.

As another person mentioned, release windows are very formulaic. Typically they are after X amount of weeks with a little variant in there based upon how much of the content is done but that is mostly with raid patches.

Either way, we should know more about 11.2 once 11.1.7 is out. 11.1.7 will be on the PTR probably mid-May at the latest. Might only be tested for 4-6 weeks at most. Not a lot of content there other than Turbulent Timeways which is could be 8 weeks.

Doing some cocktail math:
11.1.5 - April 22 (Week 17)
11.1.7 PTR - Week 18 (earlier than i want to say, but would be good timing)
11.1.7 - June 24 (Week 26)
11.2 PTR - Week 27
11.2 - Aug 26 (Week 35)

My best educated guesses based on previous test cycles.

Raid clear numbers are generally pretty heavily back-weighted though.

11.1.7 doesn’t have to last very long. 11.2 will most likely be August.

We’ll probably see 11.2 news in June.

11.1.5: April 22nd
11.1.7: July 15th
11.2: August 26th (at the earliest but September 2nd, 9th and 16th are contenders too).

Here’s how I came to that conclusion in another thread:

I’d be quite curious on what is the “Content update” marked under the 11.1.7 on the roadmap… Like, what they could add as content that lasts roughly over a month?

Can’t be just new quests, because that’s above on another list item.

Turbulent Timeways was a 6 week long event in 10.0.7 and 11.0.7, so I based my prediction of 11.1.7 being 6 weeks on that. TT is a gear catchup/leveling event, so 11.2 won’t be out before that event ends.

The thing is, the TT is also listed in another bullet point on the roadmap. 11.1.7 gets:

  • Story update
  • Content and system update
  • Turbulent Timeways

If this “content” is not either the quests/side quests or the TT, I’m just wondering what it can be for just 6 weeks.
