Compared to 11.1, this looks to be about 1/5th of the content.
Where to even begin…
Lets forget for a second that half of the “new” zone isn’t new. The other half is very lazy (that’s being generous) level design. If you compare Karesh to another end of expansion zone such as Argus, the amount of effort (or lack of) put into the zone is immediately obvious.
Random floating islands, with literally zero thematic separation, very few enemy variations, virtually no secrets (these end of expansion zones are supposed to have a million of them - that’s what makes them fun), most rares have no individual loot pools.
A “PVP” island that literally looks like it took 2 minutes to design which was plopped in a random place after the zone was completed and they said “oh…that PVP thing…what should we do about that…people still play it…”
The tier designs are complete trash compared to 11.1.
Probably some of the laziest borrowed power design yet. An RNG cloak with a talent tree. Wow. Amazing.
Yes sure…everything is currently time gated so that the excuse is “IT HASN’T ALL BEEN RELEASED YET” but the reality is people who return to play new content need to be hooked on something either meaningful for gearing or just fun exploration/transmog collecting.
This patch just ain’t it. And it certainly ain’t it for the last patch of an expansion. We had better content to finish off Legion.

Of course it’s unfinished. We still have two more chapters to go and we’re waiting for everything to unlock. What a silly thing to say.

The truth is it’s because they’re working on three expansions at the same time even though this one is pretty much done. If I’m right I’d expect there to be more content in the next two.
Sad thing is… why are we paying an extreme premium for this one if they’re just giving us empty stuff?
I dunno about you, but… once you blow through the story quests and the handful of sides? There’s nothing to do.
You do the dailies that are NOT dailies, just world quests and a weekly thing and have zero reason to return.
People can go ‘but the rares!’… are not special and really not rare. They still to this day can’t look at something fun like timeless isle… and even come close and I don’t get why that is. It was chalk full of farmable FUN stuff that wasn’t JUST a ‘daily’ single kill for the entire week… including alts.
For me what stinks is even rare hunting? 15 rep. That’s. It. Like… this a joke? Rares -everywhere else- virtually grant more rep than that!
If you play multi characters it feels empty. Like, I finished it on one character for raid and just have nothing else to really look forward to and I’m quite a light player, I just am in awe at how little is there. I don’t think I’ve seen something so empty appear in WoW… People might think Siren Isle was bad, but this is far worse!

My advice is to make lots of gold and buy some tokens and use Bnet balance to buy the base edition of Midnight for next to nothing.
The only thing wrong with K’aresh is that they seemingly forgot to add any pet battle content they usually have with a zone like this. Unless its tied to the Eco-Domes and we’ll bring the pets along ourselves.

Yeah… possibly, I mean… the dome was this big thing… and they just don’t release that either. I really dislike the gated stuff, it feels a lot worse then it would just finishing things early… and it’s not that gating is terrible in of itself, it’s HOW they’re doing it.
When you make time gates VERY painfully obvious and things don’t feel good or logical and a brand new patch is legit over in a few hours and you’re done for your entire account for the week? That’s just bad imo.

We already know TWW suffered a bit because of housing. Things were undercooked or bugged. Most of their resources are on Midnight.
It’s nothing totally new.
I am moreso looking forward to the next expansion for the actual features, namely housing.
Mostly here at this point just so I don’t miss out on all the story/lore for the future.
I am still having fun, despite the shortcomings.
Season hasn’t started yet either- it’ll feel more complete once we are actually able to start a lot of that seasonal content, like the raid itself.

It definitely has a feel of “beg, borrow, and steal to get something out there” type of effort.
Most likely the next expansions is missing on milestones and resources are getting shifted to catch up.

Oh no, it’s the same post that someone puts on GD literally every patch.

The point is if you’re already making a lot of gold you can pay nothing if you feel it’s worth very little.
But frankly I really enjoy living rent free in mom’s basement and the food is good so…
I’m easier to please than some, but I’ve really enjoyed the patch so far. A few things that come to mind is that Phase Diving is pretty unintuitive on the world map, there were quests that I could access while Phase Diving that could only be completed outside of it, which isn’t communicated very well.
A lot of the side quests tell decent, self-contained little stories, but often they fall into the typical MMO tedium which hits particularly hard considering this patch seems to have very low quest mob density in some areas.
There’s one where you need to collect a bunch of void glass by standing by a puddle and pressing the extra action button. Unless you go to a specific area that isn’t indicated by the marker, you’ll rarely find any of these puddles and when you do you can be interrupted if you’re attacked by a mob - which you almost always are. The warrant prerequisite quests are kind of obnoxious.
Otherwise I’ve enjoyed it overall. I thought the story was a decent setup, not great by any means but it does make me want to see where things go. I like the new Delve, and this season’s Nemesis fight is my favorite by far. I love the aesthetic of K’aresh and really missed ethereals and eco-domes, so that was a pretty easy win for me. The new mogs/cosmetics are fantastic and the RP toys are super fun, even if I’m not a huge fan of the currency to acquire them being locked behind doing a weekly 10 times (if you want to get everything).
It falls just below Undermine for me, but that might change as more content releases and we get into the new season.

That’s not an excuse for stiffing people who paid full price for the current xpac.
Telling people the product they paid for is worthless so the next version can have content instead is not it.

They need to slow down. They’re shipping extremely buggy patches that are unfinished to meet arbitrary deadlines.

I mean I haven’t thoroughly enjoyed a patch since the end of BfA so I don’t expect a lot these days. Dragonland was boring and lame, and this expansion I thought was going to be good was a bleh so yay.
