With Blizzcon nearing, there’s been some hints towards what the next expansion will be. There was a leak somewhat recently of a screenshot showing a Drogbar in a high quality cinematic for presumably the next expansion, though I can’t find the source now. The Blizzcon promotional mount is an earth elemental.
More recently, preorder strings have been datamined, showing an “Algarian Stormrider” as the heroic edition expansion mount.
Seeing this, the next expansion seems to be elemental based, continuing on such themes from the current expansion. Khaz Algar was mentioned in a document from the Uldaman: Legacy Of Tyr dungeon; the mount seems to hint to Khaz Algar being a location in the next expansion, possibly being a zone of Avaloren. It’s possible the story in Dragonflight might not be finished by the time the expansion is over and Tyr takes us to Khaz Algar as the next step.

Night Elves will be extinct. Horde will have three new cities. Hunters will have been officially removed from game, as Blizzard has no interest in reworking them. Humans will all work at Starbucks.

Most likely. I mean WoD had Gul’dan as a loose end and that led us to Legion. And I think Blizzard would want to play around with their underground zone tech a lot more than the Caverns we got in Dragonflight.

Do we even know if Khaz Algar is even in Avaloren? If it’s underground it could be anywhere. Also, what could be the big hook for people who want new races or classes? The promotional material also features Thrall a lot too. Definetly going to be mainly focused on Dwarves (can Moira’s son be a main character?). Gnomes will get some focus too. For horde side maybe they will go into detail on the Orc and Goblin Titan origins? Potential new races could be Ogres and Vrykul. Ogres are part of the Breaker lineage made by a Titan, and Vrykul are another Titan race.
No, that’s just my own personal speculation. I think it’s interesting both places were introduced at the same time, and I was thinking of a scenario similar to the Bastion concept art leak which showed a place in the expansion but wasn’t the entire setting.
A new gameplay mechanic like dragonriding, probably. WoD had garrisons, Shadowlands had neither.
I think it would be cool if it was in Northend. Then we could get the spider kingdom too.

Definitely thinking its the other side of the world. Perhaps a more elemental theme involving Thrall, in a more old school manner. And then the heretic titanforged, who likely know dirt on the Titans and their keepers.

I’m gonna be so mad if it’s another titan island this time with earthen dwarves and primordial trolls or whatever.
World revamp you cowards.
ENOUGH Titans, I do not care about titans, I do not care about Khaz Algar.

just sounds like an expac with more alliance aesthetics

I will be pressing charges if we have an expansion that looks to be even remotely Dwarf focused.
What next? An entire expansion for Gnomes?

Have to be careful with that wish, often it destroys and kills things.

We had few expansion having great deal of focus on elves, dwarves getting spotlight isn’t a bad thing at all and would be imo pleasant change.
With that being said I hope they would stop with the homogenisation, and give this time attention to more proactive Horde, I would be bored if Thrall would get a center stage, again. I’d rather if the shamans for the Horde would explore the new zone in their own way.
And I hope maybe we would meet some Dark trolls.

I’d like them to dedicate time to building the horde back up considering how thoroughly bfa and shlands tore it down

Thats what I’m afraid of, that the DF trend will continue to the next one. Everyone will be lumped to the same bag. Everyone will make one big homogenised slob, where you see various NPC sprinkled there and there but nothing of essence comes out of it.

Dwarf focus is preferable to pirates, and far preferable to futher cosmological chart-driven narratives. I assume it would pick up Dragon Flight’s thread of building the case against the titans.
That’s…fine. They’re definitely going to have to put in some work there. We hear alot about how bad the titans are but not how or why.
For me, Elves are interesting enough to carry an expansion storyline, but Dwarves are not.
Dwarves, although having a minimal presence in the story, produce some of the most annoying characters like Magni Bronzebeard and Toddy Whiskers. Especially Toddy.
We really need to go back to the days of Horde and Alliance having separate main story quests revolving around different casts of characters, because if I have to suffer through an expansion of mostly Dwarf characters, I’m out.

but imagine WoD… only its dwarves.

Champion, have you finished healings the Woooooonz yet?
Real talk I’d enjoy a Dwarf expac though.
I’m assuming the Dwarves might be like the Centaurs though, present in just one or two zones.
