10.2.6 meta achievements tied to horrible drop rates

It’s awesome there’s a new expansion meta achievement. What’s not awesome are some achievements are tied to things with abysmal drop rates:

We’re Going to Need a Bigger Harpoon - At the beginning of the expansion, Ominous Conchs dropped like candy. Then the drop-rate was severely nerfed, so if you weren’t doing the fishing stuff at the beginning, you’re a bit SOL. Joining a lunker group and farming to 2 hours netted 8 conches the entire time. At that rate, 15-20 hours to farm enough conchs to finish this non-account-wide achievement that I can’t spread over my alts.

Tetrachromancer - The only account-wide achievement on this list since the Maruuk Hunt unlocks are account-wide. I’ve been doing these hunts since launch, but “Bakar Companion Color: Orange” still eludes me and my alts. I suspect there’s no bad-luck protection considering how many hunts I have done.

Scroll Hunter - I’m using the Azure Scrying Crystals (and yes, replacing them every time I loot a scroll as far and few between as it is) and actually getting worse luck looting scrolls than someone NOT using them! The most annoying bit is this is that you must do 50 on one character, so your alts can’t help either. Between looting treasures, killing rares, and just mass-farming the fast-spawns in the Froststone Vault with a group, nothing seems to make this go faster.

Obsidian Keymaster - Another non-account wide achievement which requires an overkill amount of keys. The droprates aren’t nearly as bad as the conchs or Forbidden Reach scrolls, but it’s still a slog.

Are these non-account-wide achievements just designed to frustrate us so we appreciate Warbands more? Should I just wait until 11.0 where my combined alts will easily complete these, or is this meta going away like the Shadowlands one?

What do you mean you’re not done with this meta achievement?

Ugh i knew there was going to be stuff like that but i didnt know what. Hopefully the mount reward stays and its just some title that is limited time.

There’s no shortage of “grindy” time-consuming achievements in the meta, like the Winterpelt Conversationalist (max rep with Winterpelt furbolgs) or Legend of the Multiverse (max rep with Soridormi) or the combined might of all the Dragon Riding achievements, but the ones tied to raw RNG with no bad-luck protection really need to be fixed.

…not gonna say some of them aren’t a bit much, but this one took me like, 90 minutes, maybe 2 hours total.

I feel you; I spend more time flying and the “drop rate” of any chest or pile of bones is even lower now. When i use an Azure Scrying Christal, it’s supposed to increase the drop chance of a scroll, it feels to me that it’s the same extremely low drop rate as if you weren’t using one.
