That’s just it. Next patch we still sucks big time.
Over reacting much?
Spec tuning is an on-going process. So, just because they haven’t mentioned them doesn’t mean there won’t be any.
Yeah, I’m over reacting since BFA, probably.
They said once “we will fix warlocks in the next expansion”, they probably mean 10.2.5, they are just testing a little more.
I’m sure demo avoiding 2 of the capstones and their precursors because they are so bad is totally good design that shouldn’t be changed, that’s why they left it out of the patch notes
10.2.5 is also likely 8 weeks out, 6 at minimum? I’m sure there will be a lot of things added into the notes by then.
Yeah to soon for class balance
It’s PTR, destruction is not working, if they had a plan in fixing it, it should at least have something change for TESTING.
new ptr has been up for what 1 day ?
they also likely left off any major tuning right now because they’ll be rolling out tuning hotfixes between now and the PTR drop
probably gonna dump some stuff on us for Tues reset
I’m sure Affliction getting ignored since VotI with very little tuning or qol changes is totally good design. As with Destro.
Demo warlock legit just got a damage profile rework and there are still problems when they’re the defacto warlock spec to play atm? Golly gee.
I can’t wait to see another PTR cycle of Demo getting buffs and capstone talent rework! It’ll be fun seeing less and less people play Destro and Affliction!
Mind you we at one point were considering not taking Darkglare (our only 3minute CD) again because it was simming worse than other options. Unless you full push into Darkglare / Soul Rot for AOE your ST is mediocre, but if you talent into Creeping Death/Haunt for ST your AOE is bad. The only way to play is hybrid and even then you’re not exceptional at either.
Tact on the button bloat atm we have. “haunt>ua>agony>corruption>sl>drain to 3x>vt>sr> haunt again> drain again to refresh SE> nymue for channel >dg>rapture”
And then we’re still having to refresh our dots almost right after.
We were asking for some kind of tuning for Destro and Affliction all last ptr cycle and were met with a resounding… Slight Destro buffs at the last minute which didn’t really change anything. At least we got: * Customizations for Warlock Tyrant and Darkglare demons. *
Personally I don’t understand Blizzards stance on why they refuse to buff and tune Destro and Affliction.
Even if they got a flat 10-20% aura buff going off the numbers now we’d be middle of the pack not even close to being “the meta”.
Personally Affliction needs insane help, it needs massive QoL improvements in the spec tree and rotational help, it’s so busy yet it’s so unrewarding currently.
I was talking about reworking the IC / SL choice node.
Legit just make it permanent corruption with damage + a small heal OR give it not permanent, but decent damage and a larger heal.
We lose ONE ability which is good because button bloat, but it’d be hard to tune I’d wager.
I’m not an expert, I just talk about what I feel like needs fixing. xd
I personally would love Seed of Corruption explosion to extend your DoTs by 1 second.
In keys especially larger pulls I have to manually re apply Agony to 5 targets generally that’s all I have to go squeeze in while waiting for Vile Taint to come back up.
Now if Seed, extended Agony or even all DoTs including Siphon Life for those who like that, that literally will free up 5 gcds I can spend else where, Even cast more seeds for AoE then straight into Vile Taint.
Soul Rot being capped at 4 targets is ridiculous. Should be 8 and if Soul Rot hits one target it’s damage is doubled helping out in ST.
Theirs so much they could do and even with these changes I suggested say all went through Afflictions dps would be better definitely smoother in keys but it definitely wouldn’t even be close to the top.
Is Darkglare even worth going now? Our tier affects Soul Rot, wouldn’t it be better to fully invest into soul rot and move the point in Darkglare to Cresendo or Wrath of Consumption for St and AoE respectively?. Darkglare damage for me is so minor it’s really to me not worth it.
I’d argue yes because it also refreshes all dots excluding Haunt.
It’s PTR that has been up for like a day or two and they haven’t given an outline of everything that they plan to change, oh no.
Normally I’d agree with you.
They had all PTR cycle to address the issues that Destro and Affliction are currently facing. We told them that the tier was pretty bad because Dimensional Rift in it’s current state is lackluster, and they waited until the last day ptr to aura buff Dimensional Rift and it’s still in a lackluster state.
We explained this all in the PTR forum for warlock feedback multiple times over and over. There are videos from THD / Kalamazi / Nots etc explaining the issues with each spec since last PTR cycle.
I understand it’s the first iteration, I’ve waited since PTR started on 10.2 for any sort of buffs to my spec when they WANTED feedback and was met with silence. To say warlocks are a bit agitated with the silence is an understatement.
There’s a lot of feedback way back before 10.2 launch. Feedback on PTR, feedback on launch, feedback after. They lut the new 10.2.5, we see no changes and I see a lot of copium comments “it’s just the beginning of PTR, give them time”.
You mean more time?
Let’s get real, if they had anything to adress, it should be on PTR at start.
Or you wanna wait untill the last week to PTR just to see a 30% buff on a tier proc that just represent a flat 2%? Then just to hear them “we did this as a test, let’s see how it goes” and 5 months latter they just repeat the same thing, like allways ?
Last raid patch of WoD: “We’d rather you not play Demo.”
Last raid patch of DF: We’d rather you not play anything but Demo."
Even looking at the week 1 we can see the clear dislike of Destro and Affliction right now.
It ain’t lookin’ up boys.
not sure if no changes is a win or a lost, every time they change something they make it much worse than before!.
