It’s like 3 Night Elf buildings with a bunch of trees. So incredible.
How else are you going to test if a kitchen can take the heat? We’re doing you a favor! (Also didn’t see any kitchens in the new place so we’ll probably need to set up some grills for the test.)
Honestly, the new night elf capital is not amazing - it’s an utterly depressing development in Night Elf lore.
Attention from devs is not equivalent to favoritism, so all the folks saying “I don’t ever want to hear again that devs hate night elves”. Well, look at the new capital - is that what you’d call love? Meh. Was it love when Teldrassil was burned down by a whackjob zealot and her brainwashed followers?
Love would be taking back elven lands in Kalimdor - love is not opening the new “capital” to the very enemy who destroyed the last one, a thoroughly insulting move - but hey - we’re all friends now, right? Bygones? No.
Love would be establishing a new city on Hyjal or in Feralas - love is not chopping down Ashenvale to build hideous orc architecture.
Love would be restoring the Night Elves - not diminishing them to refugees and relocating them so alien invaders who wrecked their own planet can have their land.
Clearly, I care about the Night Elves. Maybe too much.
I hope they will put at least some of the architecture from Darnassus in there. Right now it looks like a small village. Granted, a pretty village, but nothing more. ^^"
Would also be cool to see an updated Darkshore, Ashenvale and Feralas.
The Nightborne would absolutely exist without the Alliance’s aid. The Night Elf you refer to, Valewalker Farodin, is not a member of the Alliance, nor is he even affiliated with the Night Elves of Kalimdor.
Considering that Suramar has not been updated to become a full-fledged racial capitol in game, we don’t know who is and isn’t allowed in Suramar.
Also, as early as Dragonflight’s pre-patch, Thalyssra and Lor’themar’s wedding was held in Suramar and attended by both leaders of the Horde and Alliance, so your assertions are all pretty weak.
Considering that the Night Elves lost Teldrassil due to the Horde, large parts of Ashenvale were burned down, Darkshore was contaminated, and, in general, a genocide was executed against them… and yet, despite all this, the new Night Elf village seems to be neutral… one might assume that the plan is to make all cities neutral in the future, except perhaps for Stormwind and Orgrimmar.
Presumably, even Gilneas will become neutral. Ironically, Night Elves and Worgen are likely to harbor the greatest animosity towards the other faction, and yet, they are the ones with whom the trend begins.
By the way, I’m not against it. I think it’s good if more things become neutral. I just find it ironic that it starts with the Night Elves, assuming the village does indeed remain neutral.
I’d bet my left exploding sheep that Vol’jin will be involved with the Darkspear heritage armor.
Its literally mentioned at the conclusion of the Saurfang getting blown up bit… When we assault Orgrimmar for the second time.
Thrall asks him to do the thing and he says yes.
Should have been Thrall honestly… >.>
Yeah I said it.
They’re lead by a council now… which honestly makes a hell of a lot of sense. Calia is not their leader, in fact I believe Voss still stands as their representative on the Council of the Horde.
… Where have you been? We’ve had two bits of them retaking and holding UC… They’re just drawing the story out (as well as the full establishment of the Night Elven city at Bel’ameth) over time…
It’s not even a city… there are some small buildings. You can hardly compare that to Darnassus. Besides, it seems that the Horde has access to it just like the Alliance. It will probably be the same with Gilneas.
I’m curious to see whether all places will become neutral sooner or later.
I’m not sure why people are so excited about turning the Night Elf capital into an expansion feature.
So much this.
Its in the wrong place… its really silly to make this out to be a big win… like its a good story and all but the Night Elves should have their capital back on Kalimdor.
This has been brought to you by Alash’anir and Alash’anir Light. A fine elf beer.
This.^
Honestly I feel nothing seeing that place. It’s nice and all… But, firstly, the location doesn’t fit. The tree should have been placed in Kalimdor. Then, the flora and fauna don’t match the typical Night Elf environment. It’s also too bright… I mean… they’re Night Elves, and the small buildings, while charming, can hardly be compared to a city like Darnassus. It looks more like a small village, as I mentioned.
Isn’t Alash’anir… a chimera?
God, there is so much that could go wrong with a Night Elf city. Man, I hope it all happens too. Just gross. Elvin leaders. Elvin followers. Elves…
well… It could be very beneficial to have all the elves in the same place at once… I need to see a man about a few bombs. - that’s not a euphemism for making bathroom either. I want to blow up that city.
I’m the only one who expects Bel’ameth to have an extra floor in the treetop?
It seems strange to me that despite all this blue and silver color of new world tree everywhere is so sunny and green? It doesn’t look like the capital of the night elves, but rather like a village of the druids.
I really hope that the temple of the moon and most of the civilians itself will be lived amongs the branches of Amirdrassil. In patch 10.1.5 epilogue, we see a glowing blue object looks like a portal in young Amirdrassil. This could be the gateway to a new city. Bel’ameth looks great, but if you’re not a druid, you won’t feel at home here. It doesn’t look like the house of a noctural race that worships the goddess of night and moon. it also doesn’t reflect the huge area covered by Darnassus. remember Teldrassil had 5 additional mini zones
The lower level of Bel’ameth will have a similar function to Shadowglen/ Dolanaar in Teldrassil when best parts (maybe a completely new zone) Blizzard leave for the future patch. comparing the new city to Boralus, Suramar or even Valdrakken, it seems to be terribly incomplete.
The game shows it was needed the force of both the Alliance and the Horde.
So no.
I never said he was.
Afaik the guards where newly created Nightborne players are created won’t allow Alliance players.
There are dozens of cinematics and events where Horde and Alliance leaders are in either faction’s cities for certain events.
That doesn’t mean they’re welcome.
I hope so too. The village down there at the roots currently looks quite Spartan.
You described it perfectly! It’s a village, not the entire capital.
Darnassus was divided into district of druids, craftsmen, tradesmen and warriors when the main center was the Temple of Elune with her huge gardens.
It’s impossible for all this to find a place among the roots of the tree.
One of the coolest things about Teldrassil was the city located on top of a huge tree. For some reason the night elves chose to live among the branches and leaves instead of the ground. My headcanon took it as a desire to get as close as possible to the night sky where their goddess resides. That was really cool symbolism.
Life among the roots is more in the style of druids than children of the ,STARS"
I really hope that the lower part of bel’ameth is meant to represent Rut’theran or Shadowglen, not the literal capital.
This is interesting head canon…as the nightborn were and never were tied to any alliance characters — their history with Tyrande predates the night elves being an alliance race.
I gotta feel that one of the reasons why the Nightborne are with the Horde is purely becsause of Tyrande’s “beef” with them, despite Tyrande being born in Suramar herself.
I mean I guess the city of Suramar being hidden behind a barrier for over 10,000 years doesn’t inspire trust with their Teldrassil cousins, but it seems to me that she only sent forces to Suramar during Legion as a “I didn’t forget about Suramar” gesture. But you can tell that she doesn’t really want to get her hands dirty as a lot of her World Quests has her saying something along the lines of “I don’t want to use my army, you must get the Suramar citizens to rise up to the fight.”
