10.2 looks bad for hunters… why bother coming back?

I took 10.1 off and have been sitting the fence about 10.2.

Two consecutive bad tiers for hunters based in the current PTR tuning.

Blizzard, do you really want all hunters to reroll?

Posting in a Ragemode bait threat.

It’s your own fault for continuing to play Hunter after Season One, when we were the most powerful.

Hunters’ time to shine is already done this expansion, your own fault for sticking to it and not rerolling.

Every patch notes for Hunters is blank so they must be pleased.

I’ve mained BM hunter through the best and worst of times. :man_shrugging: Personally, I just want that loa tiger pet.

As a balance druid I get where you are coming from. But i think of it this way

If you aren’t feeling your main, try another class/spec.

Rn i’m deciding what new class/spec to try since my favorite spec is squishy and weak

As easy as it is to gear and stuff right now, there is no reason not to.

I think I have at least 8 toons 425+ at this point.

Bm also isn’t THAT bad. Dps is actually solid. Where they suffer is from survivability. We lost a lot of defensives between SL and DF. Conduits were huge. Feign death triggered a dr. Mark gave a dr. Mend pet self heal was nice.
Now its time your 2 defensives so you don’t get one hit by certain mechanics xD

STOP PLAYING HUNTER!

  • CLASS CUSTOMIZATION beyond THREE SPECIALIZATIONS was NEVER meant to be EXPLORED

  • TWO DECADES of patches, yet NO REAL-WORLD USE found except for Growl and SPIRIT MEND

  • Want to have a pet anyways? We had a way to do that: It was called WARLOCK - There has NEVER been ANY Need for OUTRAGEOUS claims of there needing to be another Bloodlust clone

  • “I firmly believe that Aspect of the Turtle is one of the best abilities especially when paired with Explosive Trap and a Ferocity pet that allows for the best DPS possible in a PvP scenario” - Statements dreamed up by the utterly Deranged

  • “Sharp Edges is meta” ALL EDGES are Sharp that is HOW YOU MAKE A WEAPON

LOOK at what Hunters have been demanding your Respect for all this time, with all the spreadsheets and calculators WE built for them

“Hello can I pull the boss and then [Feign Death]?”

They have played us for absolute fools

Used to main hunter before switching to druid in legion, man, hunter in MoP and WoD was prime. We had amazing survivability and kiting, I miss those days.

Hunters were awesome in Cata too. Plus that was the peak of pet capturing.

Hi this is Rita’s stinky little hunter, my advice is to find off-meta friends on your hunter right now, with things like break the meta and generally inviting off-meta players to your groups. The only lock-in is aug really, and that’s mostly for the healer. However it’s cool to make friends with like world 10 UHDK, world 2 feral, etc, those people are going to remember you are not just a meta user who will drop them when their spec sucks, but actually a real friend who will push limits with them.

Did they hand out prizes for that? I did 3 keys above 15 that showed up on the leader boards but didn’t get the green banner toy :frowning:

IIRC, they said that could take up to a month to be distributed.

As to OP, did hunter get PTR nerfs that I missed?

Why does it matter for you, Ragemode? You said you were quitting a couple times a few months ago. Many, many times.

Still do for the most part (kiting), but those are tied to talents.

I was a survival main until legion gutted the spec. I do miss it.
This xpac has been a.d.d. main. My main main will always be my dk, but with how cd reliant both dps specs are, it’s just not that fun.

I’ve been really enjoying the complexity of enhance elemental build. It has all the things, which is really nice. And does a lot of damage for lower ilvls as well.

My bm though. She is still fun. It just sucks in 20’s. Certain mechanics quite literally 1 shot me on tyrannical weeks. No dr of any kind other than our 3 minute cds blows. You also don’t vers stack this xpac like you did in previous for the dr.

And it’s to the point when I play other specs in keys, my healer will joke about getting to heal other people instead of live on me full time. It’s pretty sad.

Honestly looks like buffs so far. They removed some clunky/lackluster talents and replaced them with what looks like nice picks.

  • HUNTER
    • Fixed an issue where Entrapment didn’t share diminishing returns with other root abilities.
    • Beast Mastery
      • Developers’ note: Aspect of the Wild and Call of the Wild have struggled to be compelling choices during Dragonflight. Both of these cooldowns were competing for similar design space to make you and your pets feel stronger in a way that feels different than Bestial Wrath. After evaluating these abilities, we have decided to replace Aspect of the Wild entirely and convert it into passive options on the talent tree. The removal of Aspect of the Wild allows us to double down on Call of the Wild being a strong pet summoning cooldown for the Beast Mastery spec. We’re also lowering the number of talent points in the Thrill of the Hunt and Dire Command talent nodes from 3 to 2, which should give you some extra flexibility in your talent choices.
      • Aspect of the Wild has been removed.
      • New Talent: Savagery (Passive) – Kill Command damage is increased by 10%. Barbed Shot lasts 2 seconds longer. Replaces Aspect of the Wild.
      • Master Handler has been redesigned – Each time Barbed Shot deals damage, the cooldown of Kill Command is reduced by 0.5 seconds.
      • Call of the Wild has been slightly redesigned – Cooldown reduced to 2 minutes (was 3 minutes) and the base ability now also has the added functionality: Whenever Call of the Wild summons a pet, the cooldown of Kill Command and Barbed Shot are reduced by 50%.
      • Choice nodes for Call of the Wild updated:
        • While Call of the Wild is active, all of your pets are affected by Beast Cleave. Each time Call of the Wild summons a pet, all of your pets Stomp.
        • While Call of the Wild is active, each time you Kill Command, your Kill Command target takes 3% more damage from all of your summons. This effect stacks.
      • Thrill of the Hunt is now a 2-rank talent (was 3). Each point grants 2% critical strike chance, stacking up to 2/4 times (was 3%, stacking 1/2/3 times).
      • Dire Command is now a 2-rank talent (was 3). Each point grants 15/30% chance to trigger (was 10/20/30%).
      • Snake Bite has been removed.
    • Marksmanship
      • Developers’ note: Windrunner’s Guidance being unreliable has added too much variance to a hunter’s performance on each dungeon or raid attempt. This should keep the Wind Arrow theme strong and useful, while being predictable and reliable for how it interacts with your other abilities and the Trueshot cooldown.
      • Windrunner’s Guidance has been redesigned – Each Wind Arrow fired reduces the cooldown of Rapid Fire by 0.5 seconds, and every 8 wind arrows increases the duration of your next Trueshot by 1 second, up to a maximum of 10 seconds.
    • Survival
      • Wildfire Bombs now correctly states that damage is reduced when damaging more than 8 targets.
        • Developers’ note: This is not a functionality change for Wildfire Bomb, but rather a tooltip clarity update. This has been in effect since Shadowlands.
      • Wildfire Bombs now deal 40% increased damage to your primary target.
        • Developers’ note: The Aberrus Survival set bonus increases the value of Wildfire Bomb while in single target encounters in a way that has worked out well. We want to keep this interaction going forward for Survival, so we are removing it from the set bonus and just making all variants of Wildfire Bomb, including any periodic damage effects, deal 40% increased damage to your primary target when using Wildfire Bomb.
      • Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible (4) Set Bonus – No longer causes Kill Command to increase damage taken from Wildfire Bombs.

Yeah, I saw the buffs, and the read I’d heard from people who do more theory crafting than I do was that BM was going to be insane next patch.

Was wondering if had been nerfed since.

Not that I know of.
I’ve seen some pretty broken builds so far lol. It’s looking great.

Based on who the op is. It’s a bait thread.

Agreed.

Nerf BM (to reign in the top), and buff MM (to bring up the bottom)

Blizz should still put concussive shot and tar trap baseline and add something else. New even.

And he is a “top tier™” hunter, so he should know!

Every time my wife unsubs bm is strong and every time she subs it stinks.

I’ll be sure to get her back into the game for 10.2 np
