Yay! I get so much calendar invite spam from a particular boosting RMT site, that I’m very happy they are addressing that issue.
Real-Time Chat Moderation is also a new feature mentioned.
This seems like a great idea in principle, but it would be good if there were a published set of keywords in an addendum to the Social Contract or elsewhere on the site. Most keywords would likely be obvious, but I would also bet some keywords would surprise a number of players as being reportable (e.g., “spear” in conjunction with another innocuous word would likely get reported).
I’ve heard several forum users say the Social Contract killed in-game chat except for crafting orders and group instance coordination/loot trading; it’s all migrated to Discord. I don’t necessarily see that when I watch General and Trade chat, but I can see how people just remove themselves from a report situation because the rules are not crystal clear and they simply eliminate the possibility of a foul by not playing in that court.
I just have whispers disabled, I don’t think it’s worth it to turn them on. Now it might be worth it to turn it on? I don’t know what good comes in a whisper anyway so this will probably not change. I would say people are equally likely to harass others in Instance chat as well so maybe this change should also apply to that.
Does anyone know if this uses the bnet friends list or just the in-game one? I manage a long list of cross realm raiders for calendar invites and I’d hate to find out I’d lost contact with somebody who isn’t raiding currently but might come back in the new tier (which happens all the time.)
