Maybe some will like it. I don’t. Tom Tom now automatically points its arrow towards a given quest destination. I haven’t found a way to disable this new thingy without disabling the addon. Anyone found a way?
Seems Blizzard’s new quest tracking system directly messes with Tomtom, unfortunately.
It’s happening to me as well.
If it’s the red arrow that’s not tomtom it Blizzards ,I forgot which one it is to turn it off and yeah it’s annoying.
It’s the green TomTom arrow, no doubt. Pops up when you receive a quest and points to the destination just as if you entered a set of coords. This function goes away if you disable the addon, which I didn’t want to, but had to. The other thing is that the green dot on the minimap will also pop up along with the arrow (as TomTom does), blocking the view of points of interests.
Seems like you can temporarily turn it off with /way reset all, but that only lasts for the current session (that is, it comes back next time you log in, or if you change characters).
Damn I came here to complain about the same new behaviour. And there’s no solution.
People still use TomTom?
It’s the only addon, afaik, that has coords and puts down useful waypoints.
You can /way xx, yy, and instantly get pointed where to go.
Blizzard needs to implement coords already.
Old MMO’s from the early 2000’s I’ve played have had it, lol.
Just started happening to me with the TWW launch. Anyone found a solution?
I have.
First, there’s an option in TomTom called “Enable automatic quest objective waypoints” (under Quest Objectives). For me, it’s disabled. I still get the arrows.
The workaround? Go to CurseForge and install the previous version. This gets rid of the behaviour. Do this:
CurseForge > TomTom > Versions > TomTom-v4.0.1-release.zip > Install
The latest update (4.0.2) pushed this bug.
I came here to complain about this behavior too. The app is useful, but only when I want to put a specific coordinate in. Don’t want arrows for quest objectives. Will try the above poster’s suggestion.
Update: downgrading to the previous version worked!
Exactly what I was looking for, thanks!
Yeah I had to turn my Tomtom off was driving me nuts I hope they either fix it if it not suppose to do that or change the damn thing…
Yes its one of the best coord addons out there …simple small and works well…not bloated at all…been using it since TBC…
Thanks for the info …took out new one of Tomtom put in older one …see what happens in the morning when I log back in…
If you want to keep using the current TomTom you can just turn the “Enable automatic quest objective waypoints” on and then off, gets rid of the arrow. You do have to do this every time you log in, though.
You can fix this for now by editing one variable in one file if you’re comfortable doing that
- Go into your TomTom folder and open the file TomTom_POIIntegration.lua
- On line 33, change “local enableClosest = true” to “local enableClosest = false”
- Save file and reload. Should persist through relogs/restarts/etc
edit: the 4.0.3 update seems to fix this now without needing to edit anything
Thank you so much for this!
Yeah I got rid of newer ver and got the one behind it and no more arrows popping up now…just have to remember not to update it when I do my daily update check…and wait till the fix that ver.
