10/10M Ret Paladin w/ multiple CE LF US 350+ guild for 9.1

Hello,

My name is DeVon. I have been playing WoW off and on for a long time (starting in BC). I started mythic raiding in Legion, and have only taken short breaks due to guild disband fatigue. Currently, I have achieved CE CN. Unfortunately, I’ve been apart of two guild disbands this tier (Am I Muted & Core One). In BFA, I raided CE Uldir and 8/9M BoD until that guild disbanded (Guardians). In Legion, I raided CE EN, CE ToV, CE NH, and CE ToS. The highest ranked guild I’ve been a part of was US 68 with Mind Games in Legion.

Won’t let me post links, please find me on WCL
For whatever reason, I can’t post a link in this thread. PLEASE search my character “laamb - illidan” in WCL. I am shown as a 78 overall parser (sadness) if you need confirmation it’s me. I wanted to include my BFA rogue as well who was 90 overall for reference that I am a good player, but unfortunately this post won’t allow me to.

My Preparation for a new tier
Using Sanctum of Domination for example - I started initially watching PTR streams when they started testing the bosses. About a week and a half ago, I started watching YouTube video breakdowns of the bosses, taking notes on their primary mechanics and major things to lookout for. Generally, about a week or so before the raid opens, Limit & BDGG put out a written guide of all the bosses, their abilities, etc. At that time, I create a comprehensive excel spreadsheet for myself, listing all the abilities, major timings to try to plan my cd’s if I can, and just have a source for myself to go to and make sure I know what every boss is doing before the raid comes out. Then, on opening raid day, I watch day streamers go through the raid, and I have my notes up on another monitor and ensure I didn’t miss anything in my lead up research. Generally, the biggest thing I’m able to do while watching the first time is make note of timings and when I should use my CD’s at specific spots. Lastly, I do the raid myself, I go through my logs to see if I did anything mechanically wrong with my class, and I compare my logs to other top paladins to make sure the decision-making is in-line, and if there are any deviations, ensure I understand why. That sums of my process, which takes place over several weeks, culminating with the raid release.

What Sets me Apart
What sets me apart from other players is my competitive ambition to succeed. I am not comfortable being a weakness or liability to anyone.
I am self-aware, and I can take criticism or correction without getting sensitive about it. Generally, I am the first to acknowledge it. I believe that accountability and willingness to admit faults is the greatest tool to improve, so I have no problem admitting my wrongs. I’m accountable, I’m consistent, and these are the things that have allowed me to be successful in the game & the game of life.

Please reach out if you are on the fence and I can help clarify any concerns you may have about my ability or qualifications.

Thank you for your time!
DeVon
