oh yea not to mention fof camera bug is back for the 4th time ina few months if there not gonna fix ww might aswell delete the class they are fried

While I have to agree that our self healing is really poor, I don’t think that going back to a pillar and top yourself in 10seconds or less is healthy for the game. I can’t think of many classes able to do that, prob just Rets (like they have to run anyways).

Monk is not tanky per se but it has a lot of ways to avoid dmg if played correctly, In the short period I played Monk this season, I never felt like I couldn’t do anything to avoid damage. However this doesn’t mean that we can’t have more reactive mitigation because sometimes is needed, especially against coordinated groups.

Fortifying Brew for me is the biggest downside, if this is ability is going to maintain the same cooldown IT NEEDS to be usable on Stun, or make it a 4min base and 2 min cd talented, so it can be used more than once per arena. Also Expel Harm, it needs to many talents to do some kind of healing and even when talented is not that much of a heal, it can have more healing output for sure.

You can play pitch perfect but there are many matchups that just purely destroy ww, and being their utility, not much you can do to outplay. Take ret hunter for example

Yeah I understand certain matchups that are very bad for WW, like most classes have, however I don’t know if increasing our off healing would make us be better into those comps.

Just to be clear, I think WW needs better off healing and if it’s getting lower in 10.1 that is bad, we are no longer that 1 min One Shot class, we neither are a brawler than can be fighting between wars,dhs,dks and rets, however the latest changes on the spec are trying to improve our dmg outside CDs which is good but not good enough if we can’t engage for more than 10 seconds.

Hopefully the reduce of crit dmg make it so we can stay longer without our health dropping way to quick, we are the class that receive more healing after all.

Looks like WW self-healing was massively buffed on the PTR. Has anyone tested it out? Maybe WW will actually be playable in DPS 2s and world PvP/duels again.

Hey ima say something positive in a monk forum, I mained ret since wrath but it’s so familiar I branched out to try a new class and mw/ww is what I found. I have had more fun spamming dungeons on my mw I’ve decided to at the very least cap conquest every week in season 2 and I’m leaning towards swapping to me heals. It really is a fun class and if the buffs to ww in pvp land anywhere near B tier I’m going to give it a go after my mw set is complete. Cheers to finding new fun classes and learning new things!!!

In my opinion the issue with monks when it comes to their survivability isn’t their active defensives. I think their issues come down to a few things:

  • They have limited cc to prevent incoming damage (WW used to be able to reduce incoming damage through cc chains with FoF, leg sweep and para, and WW just got worse with leg sweep stun duration being reduced to 4 seconds down from 5)
  • They have no passive defense or none that can be used while CCd (Other classes have baked in defensives that reduce damage or respond with healing based on damage received)
  • Terrible self healing
  • Needing to be within 5 yards at all times to do any realistic damage (increases damage received by not being able to used range abilities of any sort).

Some of these issues are baked into the class, but some of them are really fixable.

  • Reducing the total duration of CC in the game is fine and all but Monks lost substantially more than I believe other classes have since they’re inception. If FoF stunned for 2 seconds or leg sweep could be talented to have a reduced cd (not 2 points for only 10 seconds…) this might help.
  • They used to have some passive defense with inner strength and healing elixirs. Implement a similar option, DKs have a great version of this with Will of the Necropolis (damage taken below 30% is reduced by 20%) or in PvP give back all specs Nimble brew… I think Pallies have this ability now…
  • Rather than give monks overall strong healing with vivify, I think making expel harm more potent and functional would allow WW strong but limited healing.
  • Having some kind of ranged ability to incur reasonable damage on a limited basis may help in reducing overall damage taken. Other melee have a bit of this (DH’s glaives).

TLDR: I think this class is well overdue some serious love and I think most people would welcome an overhaul from both a performative and game-play perspective.

yea so from playing in-game now, it seems like our self-heals essentially got doubled.
im hitting 125k Expels and 70k+ Vivifies (it was like 35-40k before)

When they increased the stamina by 25%, they buffed most healing spells. In addition, some spells got extra love.

Brew got +92% to vivify.

WW got +92% to vivify, +75% to expel harm.

Mist got a slight nerf to chi cocoon (10% → 8%). Chi Cocoon, not Life Cocoon. These are the absorbs created from the talent Celestial Harmony.

Much needed love to WW, for sure, and it’s good to see.

Yes we got yourself Healing buffs but it seems like we’re still having trouble surviving. I spend most of my time running. I was in a Solo shuffle the other day and it was a frost mage Shadow priest warlock and then a druid and priest healer. I spent 90% of my game healing or in CC when I tried to fight. The cc change feels worse. I got cycloned ,sheep, Frozen, slowed, mind-controlled, feared… Then it all started over. If I did get close enough to hit somebody once or twice then they would just teleport away. Even through my 3 second 8 yards stun. I’ve essentially got two escapes only one if I’m stunned. And if I take the PVP talent for escape on FSK. I feel like I can’t move and if I actually get to somebody they just get away through some sort of teleport or similar. (Part of it is skill issue I’m sure but I was 2200 last season) not to mention everyone getting precog now with my measly cc
