10.1 Spriest makes no sense

Told ya’ll from the start they were ruining spriest and it wasn’t going to get fixed. If it’s bad the first iteration, it will only be worse going forward. Blizz only knows how to make stuff broken or awful it seems.

The casting with no mobility and ability to create space is what is killing me. I can root and fade to get space but root is on 60 seconds and having to chamber it and wait is annoying.
People will learn to play around the precog. Gonna be an interesting start to the season.

Argue me here 10.1 Shadow PvP Update - #2 by Auttø-area-52

yeah the hard casted damage is garbage, DP is hitting a little hard but is very easily dispellable by ret monk etc. the new insanity cast after casting DP hurts tho. everything else. meaningless damage

Do you read?
Apparently not. I literally said affi doesn’t cast you clown.
The only casting it really does is wall/precog into soul rot drain. Maybe a rapture here or there.
Outside of that its just dot management.
Its why I went SP, but its becoming such an abysmal spec idk what I’ll play

there is not one single human being that plays this game that agrees with you. affliction needs to hardcast constantly to maintain ua, you also mention precog drain which they use multiple times a minute. not to mention fears which any decent lock should be doing when they can.

you’re objectively wrong, and that’s okay, but don’t sink your heels in about something you clearly dont play.

I played affi for 10 years before swapping to SP, actually.
I was meaning their basic rotation, not the complex entire spec.
And yes I know nobody agrees with me. I’m the person everyone always hates and thinks shold get shot and die in a fiery pit of hell, so I’m very used to being the only person who has an opinion that sucks.
Maybe if people weren’t rude and actually educated me bc I’ve barely played in DF bc this expansion is so flipping bad for me so far, I’d actually know stuff.
all I know about is destro/demo, SP, Warrior, SV hunter, and Enhance shaman.

“Shadow Priest damage is a lot lower than we initially expected so we’re buffing their rotational abilities to compensate for the loss of instant casts in PvP” - Blizzard next patch.

Problem is shadow damage is actually not bad. But it’s how they do the damage which is dreadful.

Don’t worry, after you spend 30 seconds to get one set of dots up they’ll get dispelled because dispelling it isn’t a real punishment like dispelling unstable affliction.

Spriest needs a rework, just like they did for Rets.
Then people can complain about how broken Spriests are for 3 weeks until they get nerfed down from S++ tier to S tier. =)

Putting damage aside

From what I hear most rets say the spec feels better to play.

Shadow doesn’t really feel better to play after the rework. They removed Mind Sear which was awesome for insanity dumping in AoE. And They removed our instants for being able to DPS while moving.
They also broke up a few talents making us take 2 talents for what is currently a 1 talent point value.
We’re the least mobile caster, and yet it’s looking like we will only be able to do significant damage through casting.

Shadow is 90% of the time the target that gets sat on, we’ve got no mobility otherwise to challenge the fact.

I wouldn’t say shadow feels better to play which should be the purpose of a rework.

I was dpsing the pvp dummy with my spriest on the ptr. The damage was ok (not good, but ok), then I realized this was 100% standing in one spot, hard casting, with no interrupts or dot removal. The rework is going to completely dumpster shadow in pvp.

I miss WOD shadow… no stupid insanity, you just ran around spamming insta cast stuff. Lined stuff up right you could half life somebody with DP. Power infusion wasn’t a thing so class was fairly balanced around it’s own skills, not what it could do for others… one of the few things I miss about WOD…

this is our rework…

it’s just an unfinished mess again

I don’t know how far 10.1 is away, but Ret was a mess as well like a month before release.

mfers got you reminiscing about wod :sob:

It goes live on May 2nd. This will play out like ret, except instead of being an omnipotent god, SP will be an impotent doormat. It will take weeks–if not months–to fix, when Bliz could have just listened to feedback and/or properly tested the spec in pvp to avert yet another gaffe. That would require them to actually care what the community thinks though. As it stands, these forums are mostly a trash recepticle for our thoughts.

Blizzard has stopped designing classes for how smoothly they play in PvP. RWF and MDI now take precedence and if it plays well in PvP, so be it.
