Technically, Stormwind and the Alliance is being led by a Regent who’s standing in for an absent King. Kind of like Gondor.

Does this mean that we’ll have an expac chapter titled. “Return Of the King”?

I’m going with yes. Look, Blizzard has already implied Anduin will likely abdicate his throne this expansion. I also expect Turaylon will remain regent until he actually does something and not just be a bench warmer.

Assuming the faction conflict every does villain bat the Alliance, he and/or Alleria are the prime candidates and was even hinted in Shadow Rising. With Anduin later coming back and retaking the post.
But with the whole “cross faction” thing, I am not sure they will do any faction conflict for a LONG time.

PVP battlegrounds are still very much a thing. We probably won’t have another BFA type expansion for awhile. But the Horde and Alliance aren’t going to go kissy face any time soon, or more likely ever.

I’m referring more to actual faction conflict stories. Technically these pvp battlegrounds happened in the “past”/are in their own time bubble. Although this does make me wonder when or how Blizzard will add a new pvp battleground.

Simple, something in the Forbidden Reach could be so valuable that the factions will fight over their possession like that island in World of Draenor.

I would say that the fact that Wrathion and Ebyssian put so much emphasis on the Alliance and Horde playing nice in the Dragon Isles is almost a guarantee that the present detente will devolve into at least Cold War status in this expansion.

To be completely fair the original battlegrounds were able to exist as isolated incidents that didn’t explode into full scale wars. No reason future battlegrounds couldn’t be the same.

That said I’d be perfectly fine if they never touch a full faction war ever again. An uneasy cold war is fine, as long as the main powers at be (the players and the important NPCs) are able to ignore it and pal around like they wont to do.

Is Ebyssian going to be the aspect? Or it’s just another Blizzard’s cheap trick?

Shadowflame is sentient it seems and Fyrakk leaves after his bath.

Deathwing gave the Old Gods’ essence to the Dragon Soul in some manner and since we now know their presence infected the Shadowflame it now seems likely that what the Dragon Soul took from him was the Shadowflame which made it easier for him to rebel against the Old Gods when they told him to go away from the Dragon Soul during the War of the Ancients.

Of course N’Zoth it seems fixed that problem(boasting about it in his Raid even showing Deathwing in Deepholm) right before Cataclysm causing Deathwing to have to bolt more metal to himself due to N’Zoth’s corruption.

The new axe, shield and tabard all have tooltip icons. Which is usually only reserved for player items. So it’s possible these are also being added for players too down the road. Awesome for dwarf players/fans

I believe to be consistent with the lore, the title would need to be "Hey! The King’s Back!

Now you have me thinking he’s going to headline a revival of the band Cheap Trick.

  • Sabellian, who was wounded by the shadowflame in the previous chapter, dismisses his wounds in the face of Wrathion’s concern.
  • We fight against the Djaradin and discover a new species of serpent dragons.
  • The serpent dragons were one of the experiments created by Neltharion and the chapter ends with one of them becoming our new dragon riding mount.

I am concerned by Sabellian’s wound and I hope that the campaign has him healed and am looking forward to the new the serpent dragons.

Item data-mining naming with outdoor weaponry suggests a return to the Emerald Dream. Unclear if it would be one of the minor patches or a sign of 10.2.

So the Serpent Dragons aren’t like the Highlands Dragons, Velocidragons or Wylderdragons which are merely Body Types for the 5 Great Dragonflights with the Highlands Dragons being the most common with the Aspects themselves being Highlands Dragons.

Deathwing’s Family is always creating new Dragonflights it seems.

Deathwing first created the Dracthyr to wield the Magics of all 5 Dragonflights then created the Serpent Dragons then centuries later created the Twilight Dragonflight a perfected counterpart to Sinestra’s Dragonflight which she never named before being barbecued by the last of the Dragonflight exploding on her.

Nefarian later created his Chromatic Dragonflight which had a high failure rate and his mother Sinestra as stated before created her own Dragonflight which literally exploded in her face.
