10.1 My Wishlist Changes

Keep in mind that these changes are from a more committed PvP’er rather than a PvE’er. But I hope that my changes would be good in both forms of content.

Tier Bonuses

– Every 400 Insanity spent gain Call to the void, Reducing the Cooldown of Mindblast by 3 Seconds. Last for 8 seconds.
– Every 400 Insanity spent summons Shadowfiend/Mindbender for 5 seconds

– This would cause our tier sets to synergize. Also to no matter what have accessibility to the bonus. While the 4pc would be hugely buffed Inescapable torment. (( Also we haven’t been able to test the tier yet so I could be wrong and it might be good as is. ))

  • Talents
    – Mind Melt Removed
    New talent: Surge of Darkness in it’s place: Your Vampiric Touch and Devouring Plague damage has a chance to cause your next Mind Spike to be instant cast and deal 200% 100% additional damage. Stacks up to 3 times. Also Causes Mind Flay to be castable while moving.
    – Mind Spike is now a choice node with Mind Flay.
    – Thought Harvester removed
    – Shadowy Insight moved into Thought Harvester’s Place:
    Mind Blast gains an additional charge. Shadow Word: Pain periodic damage has a chance to reset the remaining cooldown on Mind Blast and cause your next Mind Blast to be instant.
    New Talent Lingering Void: In the place of Shadowy Insight. Devouring Plague refreshes the duration of all Vampiric Touch % SW:P by 2 seconds, within 20 yrds of your target.
    Talent redesign: Shadow Crash, Hurl a bolt of slow-moving Shadow energy at the destination, dealing (210.375% of Spell power) Shadow damage to all targets within 8 yards and applying Vampiric Touch to 8 of them. 30 Second Cool Down
    Talent redesign: Whispering Shadows, Reduces Shadow Crash Initial Damage by 80%, Granting it a second charge.
    – Idol of N’zoth, Is now included as one of the DoT’s. Mastery: Shadow Weaving. ((This will probably need some # value changes due to AoE PvE))
  • Spell Redesign* Vampiric Touch: A touch of darkness that causes [ 155.51% of Spell Power ] Shadow damage over 21 sec, and heals you for 30% of damage dealt. If Vampiric Touch is dispelled, the dispeller flees in Horror for 3 sec. The dispelled gain malediction magic debuff for 8 seconds absorbing healing taken. Caps out at 50,000 healing taken.
  • Instant cast Void Eruption / Dark Ascension. Why are we forced to cast our burst cooldown. No one else has this issue. We have to cast 3 different spells before we are able to properly burst. PI, VE/DA, Mbender. Save us the headache of having to cast VE/DA.

Feel Free to post your opinions. Especially if something would be game breakingly good / bad. Discussions are good and we got ample time to get the changes we want before 10.1 come out.

Also I’ve seen it posted by another user but it needs to be said again: @Blizzard Please give us a mission statement on what shadow is / meant to be. The class being redesigned every few years or in this case months is becoming frustrating for us.

Relatively on board, I like the VT dispel and shadow crash changes. I just don’t like shadowfiend/mind bender, like, at all. I’d rather see a set bonus that puts some CDR on DA/VE, or periodically grants their effects for a short time.

My issue with this would be that it Dysnc’s them and PI. Also trying trying to keep in mind PvE content, it furthers the reason for Shadow to use their buff on someone else. Less so keep it for yourself

Yeah so DA/VE chance to proc for 5/8 sec respectively every 200 or so insanity spent? Wouldn’t affect their cooldowns at all. I just hate fiend/bender so much lol.

Also can’t forget void origins needs to come back in some form. Base line or a talent in the spec tree maybe.

Honestly miss the days where the only reason we even used fiend was for mana regen. Not have our whole class dmg based upon that in certain instances.
