10.1 Gearing is Bad

After heroic clear tommorow, I’ll already be about 440 Ilevel. After next week, all crests and flightstones will be almost worthless.

I’m already at 90% of my BIS power 2 weeks in? This patch is going to be very boring and feel like it lasts forever.

Not to mention theres no sense of raid progression. It was fun to work on a boss, come back with a few more upgrades, and finally get a kill. Repeat.

Now thats gone. My raid ilevel is going to be 440 by the time we do the first mythic boss!

This is totally out of whack. This design ruins half the fun of progression raiding.

Wow, you must be extremely lucky with loot dropping then to already be that much BiS already.

Maybe work on alts? Alternate between games?

IMO this patch has a pretty sweet gearing path. But I don’t raid. I’m also behind because I didn’t do much last patch besides open world stuff.

I disagree. The game feels rewarding for the first time since MoP for non raiders

Then don’t upgrade your gear.

I dont have bis items, but its not that exciting getting sidegrades. I said 90% of my BIS power, which is true.

Eh, that’s how PvP works, but you don’t see me complaining.

I find it funny that PvE is all about getting ‘the gear’ and then you quit after. It happens quite often in Classic, I hear.

The content only serves as a vehicle for the reward- it doesn’t seem like people are inherently enjoying M+ for fun, without rewards present.

PvP is just about the PvP itself. I’m having fun killing and getting killed. The reward is only icing on top of that, but the PvP rewards also suck more than PvE ones do. You can get the PvP mounts after the season ends, can’t do that with M+.

What this proved more than anything was that raiders were wrong-wrong-WRONG when they said they deserved the same upgrade system M+ had.

M+ only players finally have a “normal” progression. It’s only players who raid and supplement that raiding gear with crests from 15s and 16s who are getting way too much gear.

Either remove upgrades from raiding gear, or nerf the drop rates of raid gear. Raid gear is clearly the source of the problem here however.

Okay Obi-wan.

Gearing is fun. Items used to matter. You’d do a reclear and get upgrades which meant further progression was possible.

Now gear is so free, its meaningless. They might as well give us 441 on patch day

I agree, nerf raid gear.

To be fair. They are acting like they are going to start rolling content out faster. The next new content is only a few months away. You get to be uber for a little bit ,but don’t worry. It will all be worthless once the new content comes. I personally would like for the "explorer " gear to go away ,but It is not game ending.

Progression always mattered to me more than the items itself- the items were just a means to an end. I wanted to see bosses die more than I cared about what came off of their bodies, lol.

That was a long time ago, last time I really raided was MoP. Couldn’t get back into it without my friends around.

Everyone plays WoW different though, some do so for the rewards.

Yeah ive been saying it since the prepatch event last october, this expansion is a loot piñata… its ridiculous the sheer amount of loot and ease of obtaining.

Now with upgrades, its even more silly lol.

Im casual, ran some M+, pugged 8/9 heroic over last 2 weeks, got my 4 piece already!

I bet you every person in here who is complaining that the gearing is too fast, has already put in well over 200 hours since the raid dropped. Aren’t you glad to finally have a system that rewards you for putting in the time, rather than a system that was just a slot machine? Do you really want to go back to the slot machines?
