I started to level and gear up alts, and last week some of the weekly quests from the Obsidian Citadel were giving me items with levels over 385, now this week, they are offering the same items, but are green and only 376, that you have to upgrade?
What the * happened to the rewards scaling to your item level? That was the only part of this expansion I liked. Now you clowns revert it back into a slog-fest just for garbage gear that is still a mile behind where it should be.
This is now old content from 10.0, so my assumption is that they lowered it to move you into 10.1 content. This is the gearing for 10.1 and you’ll get better drops from the new zone:
Yea, again, you have to “upgrade” to be 30-40 item levels lower than raiders. Sorry but that is too much of a power gap. I know it, they know it, and you know it.
I mean, yeah, it’s just good to get “caught up” to do other content. It gets you 400ilvl or near there, high enough to start M+ or raiding. Gets you into LFR. Honestly I don’t see it as anything more then beginner gear. And casuals who don’t raid or M+ don’t need high ilvl gear
It’s quite simple. They promoted big ilvls and upgrading stuff to max level blah blah blah with currency.
They failed to mention they will start many drops at lowest ilvl possible so you’re stuck in the daily grind of GO GO GO or fall behind still. Nothing they do actually benefits fun meaningful gameplay w/ fulfillment. It’s all about gameplay metrics, wasting your time in unfun ways and negative FOMO.
I’m all for time wasting in an MMO, but the forced grinds for minimal game and 1000x currency and upgrade mechanics is so trash.
I think the point is, with Forbiden reach you can you get to 395 much easier with the gear being BoA and not having to spend amount capped Currency.
On top of that, with the gear tier’ing there’s no good reason to go with adventure gear and to a certain extent veteran gear, unless you absolutely have to.
And that means if you’re capable of doing +11’s next week you’re just spinning your wheels in the zone. Might as well just get the easier forbidden reach gear and start to replace it with champion gear next week.
No one is going to fall behind. The current gear that drops from open world content is alt-friendly and goes up to 398, which is where open world players currently are. New season gear will start next week, which the chart I listed shows you how that works. No one is “GO GO GO” or falling behind this week.
And again, the weekly Heroic dungeon quest in Valdrakken can give you a 415 Champion piece that will upgrade much higher or the choice of 15 fragments for the higher gear.
There is no forced grind.
Alts that haven’t done much yet have an easy time to get this Adventure level gear, compared to having to find groups on Forbidden Reach that aren’t really around that much anymore.
