100th kill raid boss rule

If you kill a raid boss 100 times (on one char) you have basically been farming them for 2 years and a few months. That is more time then most should invest in such things. So I propose a flat rule, upon the 100th kill (or a number that has 2 zeros at the end) your char will loot one of everything that boss drops!

100th for holiday bosses and 300th for dungeon bosses. This should act as a nice fail safe and a goal post for those with abysmal luck.

Please note that items can always drop the normal way as well.

If you don’t like the idea that’s cool too. But Happy hunting to all those still trying to get a mount.

I’ve heard it proposed that legacy bosses should drop some kind of currency that can be used to purchase anything on their loot table, and rarer items like mounts are toward the very high end of the scale (100+).

I think that’d be fair, as it’d still leave in the option to get lucky but take out some of the hopeless desperation of killing Arthas for the 1800th time just to quietly sob your way back out of ICC.

Love the spirit, however realistically that’s too low a number

I totally disagree. People who seriously farm old content do so on multiple characters. Not only is it a legitimate playstyle, it’s the only way to get certain extremely rare items in a reasonable timeframe.

If you wanted those things badly enough, you’d be doing what it takes to increase your chance of getting them.

No. It should be by half. But more of a 50 up 50 down situation. 50 at normal chance, increasing chances after 50 until the 100th is guaranteed. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I already have my headless horseman mount. Had it for years. But I am saddened by every story I hear of someone who has been farming that mount on every alt for years and has not seen a drop. That’s not a mount anyone shows off anymore. Yes a little challenge is good for everyone. But we do have to stop that challenge when people go way past burn out territory into eye twitch land.

been trying since 2008 on at least 4 toons. no mount yet.

There is no feeling in the world as good as completing ICC after acquiring Invincible.

100% agree. Some form of bad luck protection, at least. Increasing rates after 50 kills or whatever is balanced. We don’t want to destroy certain playstyles…just make it a bit less punishing when the stars just won’t align.

The game shouldn’t be like that, if you want to collect mounts then a rule is to have an army of alts, I do the love rocket with 40+ alts, which is not FUN for a game, that’s one thing that other games do well, while WoW is designed to keep you engage, these goals like Sha of anger mount, love rocket…etc are practically imposible for a player that only plays 1-2 characters.

This is not a good game /reward design and people who defend it because they got lucky or used an army of alts (including me Sha of anger attempts 8000) is not something cool to show off, more when the game gets a lot of mounts and few mount achievements, people should feel good about mounts that are hard due to in game content like gladiator…etc, not for a roll x # of alts.

Like the competency (Yoshi P) said, Gamers should play other games too.

Right now , it feels like they moved to a less rng with some mounts, since Korthia and SL even have vendors with mounts

14 years…that’s how long it took me, until today, when I finally got it. 10+ characters, every day of the event, every year, since 2007.

I think drop rates are unreasonably low on many extremely rare mounts. I think incredibly rare mount drop rates should never be less than 1:1000 (currently there are a number that are 1:2000 and even 1:3000). Also non-rare mounts should be 2%. Or greater. I recently got the Felsteel Annihilator, which has a 3.78% drop rate. But it’s pretty rare because that means someone has to run HFC 40+ times to get it. Which is really annoying.

Having farmed most of the rare mounts in the game, I completely disagree with this. However I do wish you luck in your farming attempts. Just keep at it.

I’ve a lot of mounts, you can check on https:// simplearmory. com/#/us/ragnaros/darkunh/collectable/mounts, but at this moment i’ll prefer that mounts are attached to hard content and not rng, since i wasted years farming the sha of anger.

Why do you disagree? Do you like the farming process on wow? Right now if you want to be a collector , you’ll need an army of alts I’ll prefer to play Overwatch,D2,WoW…other games instead of farming mounts with really low drops, but i’m addicted to collect mounts. at least more recent expansions doesn’t include really low drops, actually i get mad that they nerfed Mechagon Meta Achievement because i wasted a lot of time, it’s good for players that are going to get it now, but if feels bad for people that dedicated time.

So, if that format of changing past things will continue, I would like an increase on love rocket, sha of anger i already have it but it took 8000+ attempts …etc or a bad luck mechanism

I got the Onyxia mount after some 500+ kills across 8 characters. Even just before I got the mount I was STILL getting some transmog items from the boss. Yes this was across all 4 armour types, but how the hell is that a normal thing to go that many kills and still not have all the items on your transmog tab?

Cause rng is designed to compensate for people being able to throw 50 characters per wow account at a problem.

Its almost like rare drops are supposed to be rare.

Answer to this is moar hunters. Pound for pound best legacy hunters out there, imo. See most weapons…even those mages staves, daggers and even offhands are belong to us.

I like my hunter army for mix of camo (skip trash kill boss speed run), multishot is a very high up time aoe/multitarget cast if its trash day, and unless an armour mog for say clothe…they see and use most of it.

Mounts like invincible…hunter spam. Can run 5 through in a decent time frame.

If all you are after are mounts than druids are a much better choice. I can run Stratholme in 1:45, 2 minutes if you include the dreamwalk to get out and back and reset the instance.

But you are right with hunters and weapons, I even got my hidden fire sword from Antorus on my hunter.

There is rare, but than there is WoW rare and when you click over 1000 kills on a single boss and still don’t have the one item you want, that’s a bit ridiculous.
