I didnt see him get this worked up. He is on a mission to save his friends so yes he gets heated but your over the top representation is far from what is represented in the game. He in fact comes find common ground with Tomul and has a mutual funeral for Tomul’s clansmen as well as his, which is in character with how they have presented Baine for a number of years now.
This is also true, had it not been for that I feel Cairne would have won. He was wiser, more patient and if I am not mistaken, very strong. Did I mention wise?

It would have been so awesome. Cairne would have been our war chief.
No Garrosh, no Sylvanas, Volj’in might have still died but who knows? Cairne could do anything so he probably would have saved Varian and Volj’in with one hand tied behind his back.

Like I get why they did it: they wanted to position the horde and the alliance to be more antagonistic towards each other, but the biggest sources of frustration I had were:
- Garrosh was a dumbass.
- The writers didn’t have the guts to present the horde and the alliance as being equally terrible; Like there needed to be stories about Alliance groups starting stuff as opposed to being the long suffering mary sues.
Still though, a world in which Cairne is warchief and we don’t have to hear about “muh theramore” or “Muh hickory cured Kaldorei” would have been one to see.

Not really, there is nothing in that quest line to indicate horde vs alliance hostilities, it is 100% tauren not liking centaur, nothing else.
Tovi was just making a remark about how Baine forgives the alliance for similar things that the centaur did to them as a comparison commentary.
There is nothing in Dragonflight so far to indicate returning to the tired old non-sensical war, and only anything showing otherwise:
