(10.0.7 Spoilers) blizzard what are you doing to Baine

People overthink these mundane things way too much…

I agree 100%.

Based Baine.

They can’t write.^^

No matter what race, the lore in this game is… oof.
You could argue of course that night elves are written the worst, followed by maybe Tauren, humans etc… but the lore in general is pretty bad.

If real life Baine sauntered up to you with those big ol log things on his back and glared at you, what would you do?

What would you do…?

I’m kind of fed the actual hell up with Blizzard constantly taking every Horde leader and doing something to make them a complete jerk. Now, I did see a bit of his stubbornness with the Vulpera allied race questline where they had to even prove they belonged with the people they had worked so hard to help. But I had hoped it would end there.

At this point, I didn’t love Sylvanas AT ALL, but if they were just going to paint another leader in an ahole light, they should have just kept her around.

I get that the Tauren have a bloody history specifically with the Kalimdor centaur, but it’s almost a retcon to their entire existence to have them deciding to hate every single half-horse group EVER over it.

Also, I fail to see a reason to have this questline if it just ended with ‘we’re still weary.’ :upside_down_face:

I really don’t understand why there are still so many players, who get worked up over the story. I mean, no offense, but bfa and sl are a thing… so… I dunno… but that horse is out of the barn.

Danuser has been trolling for quite some time, he’s the worst kind of old guard Blizz employee

They just absolutely botched what she could have been. Her fear and horror of what she saw when she impaled herself on the Saronite was understandable. Her looking to screw with death as everyone understood it was understandable.

However, BfA and Shadowlands crapped all over the lore and became so incoherent it made her character absolutely unredeemable. And THEN they added in the part where there is evil Sylvanas and good Sylvanas trapped inside was such a slap to the character.

Had she intended to manipulate and plot, as she had always done, to screw over Helya, the Jailer and Bwonsamdi to try to protect her and the Forsaken from utter hell, then I would have been good with it.

Her reasoning to force march all of the Horde to destroy Teldrassil and make them have to side with her against a united Alliance made sense. Everything after and the nuance during it just was so poorly written.

I mean, apart from it being Baine, it’s pretty much the same story arc as Tyrande in Shadowlands.

Maybe now we can all come together that Tyrande’s story arc was terrible and unsatisfying now that the Horde have the same one thrust unto them.

Your chalky chicklet teeth would chip and shatter on Tauren meat, even if it was ground to hamburger.

You sound Peanut Butter and Jealous. I’m bootylicious.

The only way to calm Baine is to bring back his secret crush, Anduin Wrynn.

Is Baine steak yet?

Gross. Baine. What happened to all the good wow characters? Oh yeah, ruined and killed off to make room for Carebear Baine’s journey to spread the power of friendship.

An afterthought, just to show a possible alternative to that scenario:
It felt out of character to me to see Baine act impulsive like that, not to mention that butchering the village seemed to contradict the warning about the “centaur stronghold”.
If we can purge it that easily and only their leader is overpowered, then why even bother sneaking in? Instead of killing everyone in that “very dangerous Nokhud stronghold” that we had to sneak into, why not stick with Baines spiritual side? Instead of hulking out because of the death of a guy we barely knew, he could decide that we can’t just leave Bovar’s corpse there, so we pick it up and try to sneak out of the village - just to be noticed and attacked.

Then Baine could get desperate while we fight for our lives, he could go raging bull and curse the centaurs - just to be saved by our former leader and their soldiers. I have no problem with an emotional or angry Baine, but seeing him out for blood after a (very expectable) death seemed strangely out of character. Why would he risk his and our life for nothing in that situation?

Baine is a traitor anyway. hopefully he gets killed offscreen soon and replaced with a real Tauren leader like Magatha

Magatha killed Cairne and sacked Bloodhoof Village and Thunder Bluff.

Just no. That’s a terrible idea.

Aponi is leader of the Sunwalkers.
Tahu is leader of the Seers.
Hamuul leads the tauren Druids.
Jevan leads the Horde Grimtotem.

Any of them would be a better choice.

I dislike the character of Baine so much. The real tragedy is that they killed off his dad…off screen.
