It’s the first iteration of what’s going to be on the PTR for probably at least two months. Chill.
In most places, holy paladin is perfectly fine anyway, so I wouldn’t really expect any substantial buffs outside of damage / PvP focused things.
Judgement needs to generate HoPo we now have 2 interactions that require pooling 5 HoPo. A terribly design maintenance buff “of dusk and dawn” in high keys this is almost a wasted capstone but its better than anything else we have and then we have a major healing CD that requires 5 HoPo only now useful when divine toll is up or you can predict damage wasting 5 gcd’s. Hpal is the only healer that has to juggle 2 resources to do any meaningful healing.
Give me the keys to the paladin dev shed and I will fix holy for both camps.
The entire class needs an over haul.
There is 0 reason why all 3 class spec tree’s share talents when there is a class tree.
I take your point about chilling about the about amount of time between now and the 10.0.7 patch.
I think the comment about holy being fine is a little more complex . Sure Holy is probably fine from a numbers point of view but there’s a lot of QoL and changes a lot of people are hoping for to the class and holy trees.
Something in line with the new talents and moving around that other specs like Resto Druid, Resto & Ele shaman got in this first set of changes already announced would make a world of difference to those trees.
Judgement generating HoPo would really help. Honestly holy right now plays like a really dumpy mw which is saying something… Lol
I’m kinda hoping the instant cast flash of light change which wound up in the possible ret data mining is available to holy.
That would solve the whole infusion issue, but I fear I may be wrong
They changed holy prism tooltip from yards to yds, hpal is in good hands
Imagine fire mages ignoring insta cast pyroblast procs.
That’s how infusion procs feel for Hpal right now in a melee build.
I think IoL needs to be the first talent in the holy tree, and it’s a choice talent which gives the pre-SL IoL to caster and something else for melee players (CS heals? idk)
Did you miss this change to Holy:
“When you or allies within your Aura are critically struck, gain Reckoning. Gain 1 additional stack if you are the victim.
At 100 stacks of Reckoning, your next Judgment deals 25% increased damage, will critically strike, and activates Avenging Wrath for 6 sec.”
Huge nerf for PvP.
that’s a 10.0.5 change not 10.0.7. 10.0.7 is just changing the tooltip for the nerf that’s already active
Read again.
The next judgment after 100 stacks is now 25% increased damage instead of 200%.
this is already active
That’s not what my tooltip says on live…
the tooltip has been bugged for a long time
did you play hpal before 10.0.5? judgment used to do 75k+ aura of reck proc
it currently hits for 30k
PALADIN
-
Aura of Reckoning max aura stacks raised to 100 (was 50). The Reckoning effect now activates at 100 stacks.
-
Holy
- Reckoning (PvP talent) now increases the damage of your next Judgment by 25% (was 100%). The tooltip for Aura of Reckoning will be updated to reflect this in a future patch.

10.0.5
november 15 2022 we were also supposed to see this nerf to aura of reckoning
PALADIN
-
Holy
- Aura of Reckoning now increases the damage of Judgment by 100% (was 200%).
but i genuinely don’t know if that nerf ever went through since i didn’t notice judgment damage changes
Huh, good stuff. Thanks, I obviously didn’t pay attention to that line.
Honestly would love to see Tyr’s Deliverance more accessible in the tree instead of a near capstone. I would love to see Beacon of Lightbringer come back. Compared to legion we have the same amount of buttons to click but they do less. Maybe I just need to try more unorthodox talent picks.
Edit: alright I’ll say it - light of dawn feels bad. Many people in m+ pugs don’t want to stack to make it easier for pally heals and often times mechanics deem that a mistake to begin with. It makes one of the only group heals feel extremely circumstantial. And with Unending Light as a talent it rewards its use.
I still contend that simply making Holy Light cast faster would fix a lot of problems for the caster build. We don’t need an entire spec redesign or anything. These are small changes we need.
