Nobody’s saying they should be entitled to Ll the drops. Just that they should have the same chance to win a reward as everyone else who participated. That’s pretty reasonable and it’s fair to all involved.
Your desire for a cosmetic recolor should never be given equal importance as a gear upgrade for another player in a game that relies on gear progression at its very core. If you feel that is unfair, don’t run LFR or make your own group to run it.
Plenty of people have been doing this since we returned to need before greed. People are greedy as hell and don’t care about strangers actual progression, so yes, they need for fashion and don’t see anything wrong with it.
Blizzard should probably fix at least that part of things by unlocking lower-ilvl versions of items you add to your collection automatically. Get a Heroic Tier Chest? Grats, Normal and LFR colors are added to your collection too. Same for non-Tier pieces.
Doesn’t even have to be a global change if Blizz doesn’t want it to be. Just for the current xpack. xpack ends? Cool, collections function like they do now, everything is separate. Perks for playing current content.
Nobody who participated should have less of a chance to win, regardless of intent of usage.
At the very least Blizz should make higher levels unlock lower level mogs so there’s no reason for higher geared folks to even have to go to lower content for them.
Nice personal attacks, reported.
I am perfectly happy to help people, to give gear, etc. what I’m not happy with is the expectation that I’m to automatically forfeit all rewards to complete strangers for arbitrary reasons just because they can also use it despite me putting in as much if not more effort.
Two people did the same content, they should get the same chance at rewards.
LFR is designed and intended for players who are unable to complete content at higher levels. It is fair that they have first shot at gear upgrades that drop. Transmog is a secondary consideration.
You could always make a full raid group with people you trust and run on greed only rules for transmog purposes. Might be a fun something to do on off-raid nights and have the added benefit to the overall game of not competing for gear against people who actually need it to progress their character.
LFR is going to die so fast. Who was going to run it for anything other than xmog? I’m a super casual player and most my gear from open world and renown is over 385 already. Because of this change, watch as they nerf crafting and outdoor content in patch 10.1 to try to force people to do LFR.
They should just make LFR personal loot and normal and above guilds can choose what loot to use. Personal loot should be for all content that is queued for anyway.
you do what normal people do and go solo it in a couple of expansions - I don’t know what is wrong with you people - you wouldn’t steal gear from your guild group like that but sure okay to do in LFR.
Or you could just do it on an alt.
Then why have a “need” and a “greed” option at all? It could be argued that someone “needs” 40g, or someone “needs” an enchanting shard.
Why not have the game just sort out if each individual person gets loot appropriate to their spec and class when they loot the body, like on some kind of personal loot table?
Oh wait…
Or unwilling. Don’t forget unwilling!
It’ll be a frosty day in heck when I purposely put myself through getting into a PUG at a higher difficulty level than LFR.
LFR has had absolute trash transmog that literally no one wanted every other expansion and LFR did fine. Plenty of people do LFR as their endgame, going through the wings for a chance at the weekly vault.
This is correct, though.
Just like tanks said they weren’t gonna do M+ anymore lmao
Nothing on the forums has anything to do with reality.
Yea then say good but to being carried in LFR.
That’s fine, and actually how it should be. People will either learn, or lose.
No one ever became a better player being carried.
It is far far better than over geared people don’t do into there anyway. They always caused problems. Without them in there blizzard can adjust tuning to the group that instance is intended for.
I’m gonna hit need for xmog and if i get it i get it.
Now hopefully the system goes off of equiped and in bag because if not… oh boy.
Great. I will wait and do LFR after the changes.
Grab your stress ball, it does not. It’s based off of loot history.
Except the game knows what you have earned, so if you put it in bag, yes it should 100% still count. No “need” for you.
I roll need and if others dont need i get it.
I just worry about people trying to bypass stuff for whatever reason.
The change coming though means if you have a higher ilvl of that item, the need will be greyed out and you WONT be able to roll need on it.
Oh i must have misread then my mistake.
Well i hit greed and go from there then.
Edit:
It says “In Patch 10.0.5, Need rolls for tier will have lower priority if you already own that set piece at an equal or higher item level.”
I read that as the button is still there but it sees if you have a piece already and that’s fine. I would be after mog anyway and if it goes by loot history thats fine too.
