1000% More Damage For real

Doing a dungeon run with a hunter and the hunter casts Wild Spirits - it will do 12k+ dps depending on the size of the pack. As a warlock ill do a fraction of that.

Looking at the overall damage of Wild Spirits vs Soul Rot the difference is 1000% damage. yes 10X the damage. It will do over 600k damage in one dungeon run compared to my 60k damage from my covenant ability over the entire dungeon.

Want to have one button do 1000% more damage and be ur number 2 highest damage? play mm hunter and nightfae.

kinda broken. by kinda i mean a lot

That hunter was clearly a hacker if they’re using Convoke the Spirits.

Also, it’s not like you throw Wild Spirits down and AFK. If you throw it down and mess up your rotation, there goes your damage. :man_shrugging:

Damn a hunter using druid abilities? How’d he figure that out?

I thought I was having an off day lol.

Isn’t Hunter Convoke just Barrage?

Humm, are you comparing dps on cherry picked pulls? Doesn’t sound biased af.

im looking at overall damage after the dungeon is completed. can’t cherry pick that. just look at details and compare a hunters covenant ability to other classes and covenants. its 1000% more damage. 600k damage overall in a dungeon vs 60k for warlocks. its not even a close comparision.

do a dungeon and watch the 15k-20k dps pulls that a hunter will do and the number one damage ability will be wild spirits by like 60% or more. its a rediculous amount of damage. its worse than the imbalance of firemage from 8.3 if u were back around then. wild spirits is very broken. when ur covenant ability is ur number 2 damaging ability and on other classes its like their 12th and 10X less damage its very obvious that it is broken

[Wild Spirits] and [Convoke the Spirits] are both clearly and wildly overpowered. This is not an unpopular opinion.

I believe other Covenants should be brought up to their level rather than nerfing those two into the uselessness of other covenant abilities though. Imagine in the rogue Necrolord “serrated bonespike” did 600,000 damage over the course of a dungeon LOL. Might be a fun ability to actually press.

This is a position with which I am in complete agreement.

Its much easier and better for the game to nerf 2 classes than to buff 20+ others and its mroe than 20, its every other dps class X4 so like 60 buffs and a lot of power creep vs nerfing 2 classes. Convoke the spirits and wild spirits are both OP in pvp too so it makes much more sense to nerf those than to buff literally 60+ other specs and covenant choices.

The answer to this problem is NOT “make two of the only fun covenant abilities to use as miserable and useless as the other 58”.

I fail to see how making everything mediocre is better for the game than attempting to make everything at least competitive with the outliers.

if all covenant abilities were buffed to the level of convoke and wild spirits then it would be worse than the corruption era of bfa where ur top damaging abilities come from one thing that u don’t even have to acquire u just get it for free and that would be very boring. the literal definition of balance is to make things mediocre aka to meet in the middle and thats what it should do. having 2 classes do insane amounts of damage is bad. having every class have that would be even worse.

Meanwhile casting Impending Catastrophe more often ends up costing DPS than not. Balance doesn’t mean make everything mediocre, it means keep everything relatively competitive.

I don’t disagree that there are wild outliers in need of restraining, as was seen in the PvP nerfs cast upon Subtlety Rogues, but to argue the game is only good when everything has one foot in a brimming dumpster is, to me, absurd.

Is this a thing now?

Lmfao saw you edit that real quick. Did the math yourself on that dumb comment? Hahahahahaha

More damage is cool n all… But, as a healer, and tank mains… I just wish they gave dps ways to interrupt and dispel things… Or a button that could make them sidestep to avoid avoidable damaging mechanics… That is what dps need more than more damage…

to be fair you could just ask your dps to pay attention and not be bad at the game. They dont need a new ability just actual in game skill

The sarcasm is literally bleeding from my post lol
