10.0 Wishlist

Let’s start out strong. New class (or new specs) and a new race, at a minimum.

Biweekly balance patches. I don’t care if it’s sub 1% tinkering. Look at the logs, move the needle.

No more mission table. Done. Finito.

What will people do in the companion app?! Pet battles. Adapt pet battles to mobile. I can show you how to do it if you’re engineers need help.

No more “path of the Titans”. No drop it. No need for “horizontal” power progression. That’s what leveling is for. You can have special drops or whatever for your “borrowed power of the tier” itch, but it comes from drops, not grinding. No points.

Now, we’ve got all this extra time. 22 dungeons at launch, and 3 raids per tier. 3 difficulties (LFR, Flex, and Mythic).

Mythic plus having a path to max item level loot that gets better during the patch and not worse like raids and PvP.

TL;DR: Content. Content. Content. Axe the systems.

Player housing please

Real player housing btw, not garrisons

The mission table is already dead, as making more gold from doing world quests.

Come to think of it…I don’t know why I am still playing the mission table and leveling those characters in that mini-game and wasting anime on the mission table at all…I literally don’t even know why I am doing it.

Necromancer and Tinker class, New race for each faction, and no more borrowed power system

Maybe a new BG as well.

Not necessarily just make a version of said system permanent and carry over for future expansions. Thus making borrowed power no longer a thing as we wouldn’t lose it after an expansion ends.

Honestly that’s all i need for 10.0, is just for the progress we do. Not to be reset with a new system 2 years later. Otherwise just give me a soft reset overhaul of the game. Use any story trope necessary I don’t care, just breath new life into this game.

I’m not wishing for anything. Blizz turns it into Corrupt a Wish and I end up disillusioned.

A new class and/or race? … While they already can’t balance and can’t keep relevant the existing examples, it’s more likely than not. These ideas sell expansions - marketing will hand down edicts of “thou shalt” and it will happen.

So yeah, check there.

Biweekly balance patches? While I think they should, I know they won’t.

Mission table? … Eh, this is one of the more/most benign of their systems, and one of the few they’ve actually kept alive in some recognizable incarnation over the years. This I would say keep iterating on.

Don’t particularly care about the companion app.

The “Path of the Titans” systems, though… yeah, the carnival goldfish gimmicks needs to be axed. Stop developing with styrofoam and papier-mâché and have an expansion that’s an actual expansion, not just another prolonged “season”. I want an addition to WoW, not a cellophane pop-up tent thrown up in the back yard.

As to the new dungeons… yeah. WoW was at its best and strongest before these distraction and throw-away systems. Wrath? Burning Crusade? WoW’s yet to reach such heights, and all these pithy throw-away efforts are a big part of why.

Stablize the core balance of the game, get back down to basics, and with that foundation solid and crystallized, go nuts. They should bring back the Onyxias and Obsidian Sanctum type raids. They should throw instances at us like Auchindoun - with different wings with diverse themes and threats. And they should load us down with rewards to shoot for within them - cosmetics. Burning Crusade instances are still relevant because they contain totally unique appearances - even if all they are is a color-variation on other armor, there will always be those who will seek those out.

You want your work to have meaning and impact for all the game’s lifespan, your investment of time and effort to continue to draw people in years later? That’s how you do it.

If only they stop trying to slop in all these passing fad gimmicks and throw-away systems, we could see WoW have a renaissance.

The fundamental recipe for WoW worked and can work again.

  • Meaningful professions.
    • Systems in which to turn in gatherables for rep or currency.
  • Player housing, or at the very least, a “tillers” style farm with systems that came later on for rep.
  • A new collections system or something that breathes life back into all of the older content.
  • Something to replace world quests.

Dragonsworn class. Mail. 5 spec.
Red, Disc.-style healer.
Green, pure heals.
Blue, ranged DPS.
Bronze, melee DPS.
Black, tank.

Allied Races: Wildhammer Dwarves, Dragonmaw Orcs.

New neutral race: Drakonid and/or Dragonspawn.

New AP/artifact grind is raising a chromatic whelp, which eventually becomes a customizable mount, tints and different body parts and ornamentation being unlocked like artifact skins.

We’ll give you High Elves, but…

No new classes
No new races, but if you MUST do something, unlock new race-class combos.
Balance the classes we currently have
Add third spec to Demon Hunter, whatever.
Figure out something with Survival… just… something not bad.

Copypaste the following
-FF14 gathering
-FF14 crafting
-FF14 player housing (but with more availability)
-GW2 style armor tints and dyes, it’s perfectly OK if this is not backwards compatible.
-GW2 mounts, or ways to specialize the mounts you have further with mount item slots.
-Wildstar style Auction house where you can post orders
-ESO style PVP zone
-GW2 dynamic zone quests

Most importantly: Remove all covenant crap but make Convoke baseline, for the tears, and make “laser cannon death sentence” from Metalocalypse play whenever a balance druid uses convoke.

And this too.

The table is actually a decent way to passively farm anima.

  • Flying as soon as max level reached. No pathfinder ever again.

  • An intense deep dive on classes/specs with the aim of creating strengths and weaknesses in all of them, coupled with creating content in dungeons, raids, and world PvE that enables all of them to shine in different scenarios. Also, active class monitoring and balancing.

  • A sincere effort at actual customization for races. There are a ton of fan sites that create better options. Also the Nightborne don’t look anything like the NPCs… Do better Blizzard.

  • No extensive systems of borrowed power. Tier sets and trinkets worked perfectly fine for years. Go back to that.

  • I want an alternative to M+ for group PvE content. I don’t think I am alone in wanting an experience that encourages team work and socialization rather than a race against a timer. Keep M+ for those that like it.

  • Add long requested races to the game. Sethrak, Tuskarr, Ethereal, Vyrul, High Elves, Naga, and Ogres.

  • Give us a reason to go back to old zones. Its really sad we don’t use certain cities at all. All that time and effort creating the Nightbourne city and we never use it anymore.

  • More 10 man content because not everyone can field a 20 man raid. Perhaps make mega dungeons for this raid size.

  • Open more race/class combinations, and provide unique looking spell effects to all new and existing combinations. A Night Elf Paladin should have different looking spells than a Tauren i.e. Night vs Day.

  • More content like the mage tower that gives us unique transmog options.

  • Focus on fun and engaging content and not on metrics. This is a game and not a salt mine.

10.0 is free of charge

Max level is now 70, there is no new content, all the old content is now scaled to max level

Gear rebalancing to keep a tighter spread on power player

All this is due to the started development of WoW 2

Oh yeah and talent trees are reintroduced so everyone can make whacky specs whilst they farm 10 year old raids

I would much rather see player/guild housing than yet another new class. That said it was leaked a bit ago that Blizzard is actively working on a new class. More fun content, solo and group, that occurs every 2-3 months would be nice.

My own personal wishlist:

Ogres, Saurok, San’layn, and Kelfin as playable Horde races

Jinyu/Ankoan, Saberon, Arakkoa, and Sethrak as playable Alliance races

Necromancers as either a class or a class skin for Warlocks.

The 50 character cap per account raised.
