10.0 will be interesting, at least

I don’t think I have ever seen the community this universally negative and done with the game - and I was subbed for most of WoD and BFA.

I wonder if this reception will be a wake up call, or if they will continue to double down on poor ideas and ultimately bury the game. If they were smart, they would copy MoP.

I doubt it. Blizz has never learned from a mistake, or they wouldn’t keep doing them over and over. At this point it seems to be hubris at best and pure anger at the player base at worse.

idk why people think Shadowlands is over… if anything it’s finally started to pick up. Shadowlands does not end till we get rid of Zovaal…and maybe Anduin… unless we save that boy only to find out Turalyon refuses to give back the throne and we finally get the alliance being evil for once. I wonder if we ever got to go to war with the light if we’d get a light version of that void illusion we got from nightmare of Stormwind… would probably make some pally fans happy… maybe…

I thought they kinda did by copypasting Timeless Isle.

They did but they forgot to copy and paste the actual quality of the content and instead just made a worse timeless isle.

No it won’t. Blizzard don’t care about feedback, they’re just worried with player metrics. After doing the same mistakes over and over it is clear that Blizzard is not willing to improve the game.

I feel like Blizzard just straight up hates and virtue signals their own playerbase at this point, it’s pathetic to see how bad the communication is, hey blizzard monk has not gotten a blue post since MOP, hello?

i think it will just be a rinse and repeat tbh. i fear blizz rides too much on their rep and fanboys. i mean to me it makes little to no sense you get a lot of negative feed back then you put out what was negative in the feed back right into the game then what you get? more negative feedback.

this game is played by all not just me not just rank 1 pvpers or world first raider but everyone… casuals, semi causals, RPers, PvPers, w.e.

Some of us enjoy this game!

Copy MoP’s story, not MoP’s gameplay. Stunlock city was not as fun as you think it was.

I’m already seeing me watching the 10.0 announcement and Blizzard like ok now look at the main progression system of the exp that will be different this time and i shaking my head in sadness.

Story probably be like oh turalyon is now the faction leader that will go nuts - but this time will be different and totally will not end in a siege of stormwind

Perhaps blizzard should have just ending wow at legion since bfa and this one are both terrible.

I mained a sub rogue, so I beg to differ.

Class design, Reward structure, Raid design, their philosophy (whatever it is) on why it’s so tedious getting alts up to snuff, needs a complete overhaul.

Even when they change things, it usually takes them forever to do it. There is no agility. They timegate everything. Playing different specs optimally is torturous process because of covenants. Just…why?

To reiterate, why does the thought of me playing multiple specs of the same class optimally bother them so much?? How does making our alts repeat the same quests and timegated content over and over benefit the game or the playerbase? Can’t we make this process faster? Not only after a patch, but at launch.

Why are Holy paladins still just ALLOWED to do 10 times more dps than every other healer, not lose any healing throughput, AND keep the crazy raid utility they have? Why has no major raid utility been given to Mistweavers, Holy priests, and Resto druids? A raid wide damage reduction is mainly what I’m talking about.

Why do pure DPS classes have raid buffs? These classes are typically the ones who top the meters. Not only that, some bring a buff, and some don’t. Why? Why aren’t these buffs exclusively brought the hybrids (druid, shaman, paladin, monk)…?

And for the love of Christ, can some real attention be paid to feral, enhance, ww, demo, and survival FOR ONCE? They’ve been the butt of every joke for years. Do something. SAY something.

Why was Unholy DKs damage so problematic that you heavily nerfed the mastery? You’ve continuously let Shadow, Affliction, and Fire mage absolutely shred in most, sometimes all content. Another shout goes to warlock because you let them shred meters and leave the utility they bring alone, but you killed DKs best utility when they just got it back.

What I’m trying to ask is: "Why is one extreme allowed, but another one isn’t?"

Next expansion, can we actually let gear be gear, have tier sets, and that be it? No more 200 different legendarys, convenants, corruption crap? Just gear and tier sets. And bring loot drops back to how they were in Legion. That’s it.

Part of me wants to believe the success of other games will give Blizzard that kick up the *** they usually need to make sweeping changes. Another part of me thinks they haven’t learned anything.

Zovaal is a crappy antagonist. He’s like the Lich King in WotLK. Shows up, does something because super evil powerful big bad, then runs away.

yawn.

I dont think anything will change until the design managers or whoever has the vision since legion is out. I think they misread Legions overall positive reception. I think they assumed it was the systems and world design, but really i think it was people excited to be excited about the game after WOD, and it did have the content. People didnt think much about the systems.

Its clear the people in charge have their vision and will see it through. I cant imagine any scenario where they needed 3 or whatever expansions to make it work, so i do think 10.0 will be interesting, but probably not for the reasons i want…unfortunately.

It’s not that they don’t learn from mistakes, it’s that they learn the wrong lessons usually in my opinion.

“Blizzard, stop, we don’t like you bogging the game down with arbitrary power systems to force us to keep playing so we don’t fall behind. . .”

Blizzard’s take from it: “Oh, they hate them because there’s not enough. Add more.”

Or people not liking legendaries because they were completely random and drastically impacted your performance. Adding a currency to get the ones you want made people like the system a lot more. . . then reuse the system in BFA without the currency to the point they had to content patch it in.

to be fair, a few of the systems in shadowlands are waay better than what we previously had, so they do eventually listen to feedback, but its gonna be curious if they do it mid expac, 10.0, or 11.0

I had fun :man_shrugging:
