Now that Blizzard mentioned that Mission Table maybe won’t come back fro Dragonflight, they should improve Worldquest to be relevant during the whole expansion from day 1.
Instead of the Legion, BFA, SL system that provides WQs with random rewards between Gear, Anima, Gold, Materials…etc change it to provide a single currency, that currency then can be used on different vendors for Gear, Bags of Mats like the mission table, Gold bags, Runes…etc
During SLs duration if there’s some WQs that provide a reward like gear and your Ilvl is higher there’s a bigger probability that you won’t consider it rewarding or if you don’t need anima.
Same issue happened with Korthia Dailies that provided random rewards and diminish my desire to do dailies.
Dailies and World Quest could be a side activity while waiting for a M+ invitation, for someone, a break…etc and you could do the WQs that you like and that are really quick or fun and all WQs will give you the same progress for a specific reward that you need.
World quests certainly need to keep up with player advancement.
One of the worst part of mission tables was they werent updated even once in the expac.
You don’t get something in exchange for mission tables. You just lose mission tables. Things are budgeted based on expected ROI - otherwise that revenue goes up the chain and into Koticks pocket. If they thought more world quests would lead to greater profit they would have budgeted accordingly.
The problem with Shadowlands mission table compared to their previous iteration was that Devs split the sytem into 4 covenants with different troops and followers causing balance issues that were addressed poorly while WoD, BFA has a better mission table system for everyone. NF is still the best covenant for mission table.
Coming back to the game so late into the expansion (about…2 months ago now? I lost track of time), I cannot FATHOM 10k tokens. Perfectly possible within the full course of it, obviously, but ugh…I threw up in my mouth a little when I saw that.
Ehh, I’d still give the nod to Necrolords on that one. Dreamweaver is an i-win button of course but the Necros have more consistent power with their troops.
Both of them are miles ahead of Kyrian and Venthyr though
True and the people that used another covenant due to BIS player power were impacted on the other covenant systems and thematic, that’s the whole problem with the expansion announcements and what we got during almost 2 years.
WQ’s need to be reimagined, the whole daily, wq system of late is just not engaging and feels like it is catered to the ‘‘ugh, don’t want to do it, don’t force me to, don’t make me travel, do it all for me while I raid’’ crowd.
I still don’t get what’s the 2.0 like what changed besides doing WQ longer , between that and lack of good rewards, It feels bad like Zereth Mortis now that some days, there’s 3 WQ and all provide items 252 that i don’t need at all.
the legion mission table and followers was probably my favorite iteration of it, and wouldnt mind it making a come back. the follower equipment that boosted gold and such from doing WQ’s was great too.
SL mission tables were the worst by far, tho i think much of SL can be listed as such (WoD was still worse overall tho). the WQ’s wernt terrible, they were basically the same gameplay wise, but dont ever tie the rewards to rep or covenant ranks ever again… it made them pretty worthless to a character very quickly, they should scale with the character themselves, not by time gated metrics.
And some of those dailies provided a single currency, like the Argent Tournament and then you could buy things that you want with it. We need player agency with the rewards, otherwise dailies, WQs doesn’t matter, it won’t provide good engagement during the whole expansion.
Both options give us all kinds of rewards (gear, gold, anima, legendary currency, farmable mats, etc…)
You also have those world bosses in all four continents that offer hefty rewards for a fraction of the effort. I love those. You just cruise through them with an instant group no matter what toon or alt you’re on.
Ain’t that the troof. My necrolord with a few level 60s has been smashing missions like they’re going out of style and my all level 60 venthyr team can’t do more than a few quests because all the good followers are used up in the first few missions and the soldiers are bad.
Yes and no, because i don’t have to do every single WQs, I’ll do any amount depending of my free time from other gameplay and it’ll be rewarded and it should be fun too.
