I’m gonna kick myself for even saying anything, but I logged in today to find out that last night I got the 100 exalted reputations achievement. The problem is, I’m pretty sure I don’t have 100 exalted reps. I’ve been farming it for a long time and have not gotten any new reps (that I know of) to exalted at all. The difference: I got onto a horde character for a short time to check something out, and I played my shaman.
I don’t know what it is that might have gone wrong, if horde reps are now calculated separately from alliance reps (tried when it initially went live to get on my horde chars to see if it worked, and it didn’t at the time) or if it’s a result of some other issue, like being exalted with Aldor on an alt while my rogue is exalted with the Scyers, but it seems odd to suddenly have gotten it after that.
One last thing I remember, is that my monk got exalted with 7th Legion yesterday. Perhaps that’s what caused it?
I’m not trying to make waves, but I do feel like achievements should be earned and just want to clarify that I’m in no way attempting to dupe the game. I’ve worked for every rep I’ve acquired. I just can’t count 99 and see the 100th rep.
HALP!
The Exalted Reputation achievement is account-wide now as of 8.1.
The Horde character you logged into happen to have some reputations at Exalted that none of your other characters did, and that pushed you over the criteria.

That’s the thing, I checked to see if that worked before and it did not work. From what I understand, the reputations all correlate, so if you have reputation with Ogrimmar on horde, it’s equivalent to Stormwind on Alliance (not necessarily those two, but that’s the example.) I could be wrong, but it’s what I’ve seen before now.
It’s possible there’s a few cases where reputation equivalents aren’t excluded. As far as I’m aware every reputation is a totally separate ID and thus it would be a manual process to determine which reputations have equivalents. There might be a slip-up there.
Though if you were 99/100 and got 7th Legion, it might have just not counted until a relog.
I’d also bet Scryers and Aldor are separate.
Regardless I wouldn’t think too hard on it - I’m sure that at best the achievement is working as intended and you miscounted something, or at worst there’s a couple reputations that aren’t flagged with their appropriate equivalent so you happen to get one bonus credit for them. It’s a tricky thing to track down with 100 reputations across many characters.
