100 Exalted Reps, Sha'tari Defense and Council of Exarchs

Recently I’ve been working on the achievement [100 Exalted Reputations] and had been working my way through the WoD reps when I noticed that Council of Exarchs and Sha’tari Defense both did not count towards the achievement progress when I got exalted with each.

I have not gotten these reputations to exalted on any other character, and nor do I have their mirror reputations Frostwolf Orcs and Laughing Skull at exalted horde-side either (Or any horde WoD reputation for that matter).

I have opened a ticket about this to GM’s several times, and they were unable to identify the cause of the issue, and suggested I submit a bug report here.

Has anyone else encountered this bug, or have an idea why these two reputations do not count?

Both sides of complementary faction reputations don’t count. If you get the Horde side, that’s the only credit you can get for that pair; the Alliance complement will not count.

This is true of all faction complementary reputations. There is a direct correspondence between Horde and Alliance faction pairs, and scoring one of the pair prevents the other from incrementing the achievement.

This is all by design.

As I said above, I do not have the counterparts of these reputations at exalted either.

If you’re grinding the reputations, they have to be unlocked first by building a Level 2 Trading post in your garrison. Otherwise, you get no reputation credit for kills.

Apparently, you can buy reputation tokens during WoD Timewalking. I don’t know if the faction unlock is required to use those, although I’d be surprised if it did.

I just went down to check and yeah, you can buy rep tokens from the WoD Timewalking vendor. 50 timewarped badges for 300 rep. It might have saved me some time on the grind if I used these XD

But yeah, I have a Level 3 Trading Post in my garrison, and earned the reputation through the traditional means of running around in circles and killing things.

I reached Exalted with Council of Exarchs a few days ago. I was at 94/100 exalted reputations before I started that grind, and I was at 94/100 exalted reputations still after I got them to exalted.

I then got Arakkoa Outcasts, Hand of the Prophet and Steamwheedle Preservation Society each to exalted after that, successfully increasing my total exalted reps tracked in the achievement to 97/100

I reached Exalted with Sha’tari Defense yesterday. I was at 97/100 exalted reputations before I started that grind, and I was at 97/100 exalted reputations after I got them to exalted.

I do not have Council of Exarchs exalted on any other character. I do not have its mirror rep Frostwolf Orcs exalted on any other character.

I do not have Sha’tari Defense exalted on any other character. I do not have its mirror rep Laughing Skull exalted on any other character.

There are reports that these account-wide accumulation achievements don’t score correctly. For mounts, there’s some foulup on incrementing the achievement total unless you do it on the character with the current highest total. I don’t know how that would apply to the reputation achievement, since the mechanics don’t seem the same, but there are other bug reports like yours.

That is useful to know. I am currently working on this achievement on the character with the current highest total in an insane attempt to get exalted with every reputation on a single character, with a total of 90 exalted factions on this character alone so far.

A GM did mention that if I had gotten other mirrored reps exalted, the achievement may have recalculated if I had their counterparts already at exalted on other charactes.

However both Scryers and The Oracles incremented correctly for me when I did them: Scryers did not increment up as I already had Aldor at exalted on another character, and The Oracles did increment up as I did not have Frenzyheart at exalted on any character. So at least in terms of that, it seems to be incrementing correctly and as intended in both circumstances. A reputation with an already completed mirror did not count, as intended. And a reputation where the mirror was not completed did count, as intended.

Edit: Just as an update to further compound this bug. Today (3rd of October) I just got the WoD rep Order of the Awakened to exalted, and it progressed my [100 Exalted Reps] tracker from 97/100 to 98/100 successfully. So its not an issue with the tracker itself, exactly. Its definitely still an issue with Council of Exarchs and Sha’tari Defense.

I can confirm same behavior but I got the horde reputation completed.

On 10/05/2020 I got achievement for 90 reputations.
On 10/12/2020 I got Frostwolf Orc achievement for exalted.

My count stayed at 90. I do NOT have Council of Exarchs completed highest is friendly.

Edit:: This reputation pair is not counted as part of 100 Exalted Reputations.
