Has your game ever just frozen randomly? But a few seconds later it goes back to normal like nothing happened?
Check your add on menu, chances are you CPU usage spiked to 100% and hard froze your game for a few seconds.
Heavy add on user or not, this is not your own doing. This bug has been happening ever since they introduced/updated the add on menu with TWW expansion release.
And an ETA on a fix would be real nice since dieing at a 12+ could brick the entire run.
lmao.

lately, yes…a few times. With some audio whackiness too. Happened a few times over a couple days last week.

Since the patch. Who has it happen seems random and when it happens is random. Can be a couple times in a few hours or once every few days…
If it happens during any mechanics its probably GG for you.

Just killed me during a run of Priory.
Perfect run otherwise, but you know a random suckerpunch to keep me awake.
lmao.

It happened to me tonight while we were pulling Stix I think. Luckily it was right at the beginning of combat.

I’ve had this happen every now and then when I’m in delves. It always seems to happen in the middle of a boss fight.
It sucks. It is comforting to know this isn’t a me issue though but Blizz needs to do something.

Yes, and the sound just cuts off completely. I must go into the menu to turn it back on.

Worst i’ve had is a hard crash and boot up on pc.
Thankfully nmves are fast.
lmao.
Damn, I thought it was just me.
I’ve had this happen in a ten, luckily I think we managed to still time it. But I was hard froze long enough for the team to almost catch up to the wipe spot.

Yes! One time it was because of a WeakAura I got from the website wago.io, but as for the other times, I have no idea. I update my addons every day (BigDebuffs, WeakAuras, Details, Raider.IO, TotalRP3). I’ve had freezes countless times, even when I wasn’t using any aura.
It’s happened to me a lot this season, but it hasn’t happened much since I changed details interval setting from .2 to 1 second.
The only times it has happened since then actually resulted in a lua error for DBM saying a script ran too long. edit: it also didn’t freeze for as long when it happened after changing the details setting.
Prior to that it would happen with no lua error.
All the time, especially after this season began. I thought my processor was just on its last leg.
Well maybe. Or maybe there is something else going on with your system eating up CPU. Look at the rest of the processes and see if anything else is overloading the system.
Also, these days there is more than one CPU in your system. Make sure it is measuring all CPUs and not just one CPU. It may not even be the CPU, it may be something else like the disk. Are you running a hard disk or SSD (Solid State Storage Device).
Process, WoW CPU usage 99%. Add on menu CPU usage 100%.
It’s a spike, but it’s definitely WoW’s new add on menu.
lmao.

Maybe it’s not the game, but our own simulations lagging for a moment…
look up “wow WPO fix” and see if it’s worth looking into for this
I removed BigDebuffs last night because the addon CPU usage test I ran showed that I was essentially frozen for 50s out of a 5m50s raid finder boss fight. BigDebuffs was 93% of the load of all my add-ons. It was fully updated.
Sucks not having it and I haven’t found an alternative of any kind, but it is what it is. Game runs better now even if the root issue seems pretty obviously on Blizzard’s end. No issues all of DF or the first few months of this expansion; since then it’s been a chain of various issues with FPS an freezing and stuttering, and at every turn I’m not alone in having the issues.

What is your PC specs? I’m curious.
If I hit 100% cpu usage in wow I’d be very very surprised and concerned because that actually shouldn’t be possible.
