10.0 All over again

Class tuning added in 10.0.7 and there is nothing for mage. 10.1 Class changes, nothing. Blizz said the new tier sets are supposed to be a increase in power from 10.0 but for most mage specs they are a net loss from 10.0 sets.

It feels exactly like it did in the beginning of 10.0. We are obviously heading into next season in worse shape than the the majority of other classes, yet we get no attention. Mark my words, they will again be caught with their pants down and will be forced to do hastey, band aid buffs to mage in the beginning of 10.1. I am just tired of being neglected. I am not doing this again. Might be time to start gearing my alt.

after Legion Mage Dev only removed stuff from mage and kep removing and we are at the point arcane mage is only ok if he manage to stack 69 buff ontop of ea other … Fire press pyro only … Frost press Icelance only … We are at the barebone lvl and its geting old fast

It doesn’t feel exactly the same, it literally IS exactly the same. There haven’t been any changes to the talent trees design-wise since mid-beta.

I agree. Seeing mages completely ignored this entire season (with only little % buffs) while every other class is getting tuning is unacceptable. Pair this with lackluster tier set mages are going to be behind again next season.

That’s my thing, I wasn’t that mad that mage was broken in SL because, blizz wasn’t fixing any of the broken classes. I have since only grown more mad every patch. Watching classes get redone before the expac and mage getting the least changes and new abilities, got a little mad. Watching classes that have gotten more attention then mage, getting re worked again, got pretty mad. Watching those classes then get reworked a second time, mad. But the icing in the cake is, at this point, I think every class has had some things in there tree fixed but mage, the class that got the least changed in the new talent tree system, big mad.
It’s like, mage is not worth looking at or they think the way we are now is good. Either way its bad. Anyone who has spent 5 minutes in the mage forums (NA or EU) would know things are not good.
You would think there would be a red flag in the beginning of the season when fire and frost were terribly under performing that there is a problem with the class. Nope, just buff it until the numbers don’t look as bad as they did. Crazy…

Fire and Frost haven’t had any new active spec-specific spells introduced since Legion (excluding PVP-only spells).

Mage got mass polly bro!!! =[

And most people don’t seem to be very happy with the ones that arcane has received since then. I think there are 3 arcane-specific spells that are new since then (Touch of the Magi (technically it was added in Legion but it was just a proc then), Radiant Spark, and Arcane Surge) and all three of them are divisive at best based on what I’ve seen here on the forums.

I legit with presence of mind could be used on any arcane spell under 10 seconds. Now that surge is a cast, radiant spark is a cast, mass polymorph is a cast, reg polymorph is still a cast - it could be interesting to see how people use PoM.

That is how it used to be in TBC. You could POM sheep or POM pyro or frost bolt w.e. I miss the old talent trees, I ran the majority of my talent points in frost and the rest in arcane up to arcane power. The ability to mix points into diffrent spec talent trees made for some interesting and fun game play. Good times.

Everyone read the article by the class writers on Wowhead analyzing the new mage tier sets?

All three had very little good to say.

This mean they gona keep it " as is " and rework paladin more !

I think it’s pretty obvious they just don’t care about this class now.

First they take the worse gameplay all three specs have had in an expansion (Shadowlands), double down with terrible talents that further exacerbate those terrible playstyles, and then they give up and throw “whatever” into tier sets which are absolutely horrible because of their chosen playstyles.

Maybe 11.0 we’ll get a decent class to play.

I don’t know how, but I feel like the arcane writer consistently gets the correct answers but is constantly using the wrong formulas…

Not once in that article do I see it mentioned that

  • Arcane is built around stacking cooldowns and making what is already our longest-lasting cooldown longer and adding a component that gives some but not all of the damage increase after it ends does nothing to help us where our damage is.
  • Hard casting nothing but arcane blasts during that window does make the 4 set rather easy to maximize, however, it’s almost definitely a major DPS loss to do so.

It feels like I like and dislike a large number of the same things as them, but never for the same reason.

tl;dr I don’t trust the wowhead class writers

P.S. I’m still angry about the time in BfA when one of the arcane guides (not sure if it was wowhead or icyveins) was written by a fire mage who blatantly said "Fire is better in all aspects and if you really want to play arcane, stack vers and spam nether tempest every GCD

I remember that. I LOVED arcane frost builds. AP + Icy Veins just felt so good

Yeah TBC Arcane was awesome. The 40/0/21 build was great. Arcane now in comparison is a dumpster fire. Classic TBC Arcane was 100x more fun than this garbage we have now. The T5 set was awesome and now we are stuck with garbage sets. Oh and Arcane Explosion in TBC did massive aoe damage and now it’s utter crap. Oh how the mighty has fallen. It’s truly depressing.

They need to change our mastery to frost dmg

We can only hope, though we also said that for 8.1, 9.0. 10.0…

It’s almost like we know the future at this point. My :crystal_ball: says there will be another hastey buff coming to mage in the next few weeks. [Ominous Music]

Frost mage got no buffs.
Glacial spike and comet storm dont count, since no one uses themm cause they are very bad even after buffs
