To Push a Pre-Patch, not the release of the game, a PRE-PATCH by so much from the original scheduled time of 3 PM PDT honestly tells me that this whole thing was clearly a Rush job. I don’t mind long server ques as that is not something Blizzard can control. But to have 3 push backs in one day shows that TBC is here to try and show good numbers for Blizzards shareholder reports. To everyone saying they are buying boost, and that the deluxe edition is fine, and that some changes are ok. This is what you are paying for. A rushed job with your money helping to support this kind of company behavior in todays gaming market. I run my own business and I can say that if I was in Blizzards shoes and knew I can get away with this kind of behavior I would do the exact same thing.
Will I still stay up and play TBC pre patch even if it launches at 3 am EDT, absolutely, will I buy any services outside of the subscription, No.
While classic had delays it was ready for launch with just long que times and came within a reasonable time frame that was expected. That is what no changes and no rush job gets you.
I honestly would not be surprised if they paid services are what is causing all these issues and delays. This is why I wanted NO CHANGES. Just give me the original product like it was before.
Too all the people that took time off work and planned around these times. I am sorry that you have lost so much time and are now not able to play most of the day like you planned. Hopefully you will still be able to enjoy it tonight.
The people proudly wanting to buy the deluxe/dark portal pass. Thank you for contributing to this kind of behavior and supporting it.
Opinion piece done. Looking forward to seeing all of you at the Portal sometime/day.

They’re bleeding subs on retail, so they’re hoping by pushing this out earlier they can keep more subs paying.

Not that I am condoning these push backs…However this is likely a cause of the server splitting, something probably went wrong in the initial cloning of the servers to Classic Era.

That is very true. The only Video game company I know that lost player base during COVID instead of gaining.

curious about what broke honestly, seems to be a rough transition

That is fair too. At least it would be more understandable. However the silence is not helping. If it was a cloning issue I wish they would just say something. Because we both know they will never admit if it is because of paid services.

they’re probably the same people that preordered cyberpunk, honestly blizzard could crap in a box and write Warcraft on it, and people would be happy to buy it.

I would agree… There was no PTR for the classic side.
If you took time off and expected to play something Warcraft related on release day, you haven’t been paying attention for 15 years.

Lol I would actually love to see that in a test theory. I really do miss old Blizz which is why I am clearly playing the older versions of the games. I think the company can redeem itself but to do that it would cost money, maybe too much. So the shareholders would be pretty upset. Hard situation honestly.
prepatch is TBC, all the content and cloning. release is flipping a switch, if either is likely to cause a delay it’s prepatch

Classic worked. I get the argument but does that really make it ok. It like Bethesda with Fallout 76. “Bethesda games have bugs, its ok, its a little buggy” then they went too far. Just because something is, doesn’t mean it should be ok.
What is this mentality of shaming people for doing with their free time whatever it is they want to do with it? Though I did not take time off anything for this, it’s not unreasonable to expect a dedicated and passionate company such as Blizzard to meet their self proposed deadlines. It’s 2021, not 2006.
That is a fair argument. I should have worded it a bit better.
What I am trying to say is that most of the content we have (outside of Blood Elf and Space Goat) is still in the classic area. So outside of cloning I don’t really understand the issue, unless it is paid services. Also it still goes back to my original argument of rush job. They were not prepared for this launch/Pre-Patch. Which ever we want to call it.
it’s current year and expecting smooth launches of anything coming from blizz is on the unreasonable side i’d say… but you right on the shaming part that’s dumb.

Dedicated and Passionate?? Money Grubbers is all.
Great way to word it. I understand that if I was in those peoples same exact shoes I would feel very slighted.
