GamesBeat: You mentioned earlier that the game’s almost 17 years old now. Is there a point where it’s just too old, with too many story threads, too many systems, and a reboot becomes too enticing to ignore?
Hazzikostas: I don’t think so. We’re always thinking about what is the future of WoW, not just a year or two from now, but five or 10 years. Within this world there are plenty of stories we still have to tell, places to visit, and improvements to make.

From those people saying 10.0 could be the last expansion, what says you now?
They have plans and currently have enough funding to continue operating. We probably only need like 300k subs to keep the lights on, although if it drops that low they’ll either need to increase sub costs or reduce the team further to cut costs.
Without real numbers of how they’re doing though it’s all guess work.
I would hope so, I don’t really want to see the game drop below 1m if it can be helped, having more funding naturally allows for the possibility of a larger team and more/faster content.
as long as nothing bad happens and blizzard can finally pick it self up from the tower of disaster they made for them self then i say i am glad they have 10 yrs plan.
but in the end it will all depend on their costumer’s money.
is there such a thing as… something else? I keep find myself coming back to this game.
I would actually fund this company to stay in business until my mouse hand, and keyboard hand and keybinds no longer work… i wanna play wow at 100 years old!!!
There are options. WoW is still there though. I’ve bounced back and forth playing WoW and FF14 for years now. My wife only plays FF14 so I enjoy playing that with her, and the story in Shadowbringers is excellent.
Playing WoW less now and being unhappy with it doesn’t mean you hate it or want it to fail. The opposite. I want them to make it so good I’m excited to come back. I want to be excited to log in again. Hoping they can get their stuff together for 10.0.
