Why don’t mobs drop loot if there higher then 10 levels from my character, very disappointing to encounter a mob and win by the skin of my teeth just for it to not matter
Can we fix this, I don’t see what it hurts to let these mobs drop there normal loot table

that’s kinda weird, i didn’t know nothing dropped for killing a challenge mob per your level.
I don’t know what you mean by challenge mob but yea if the mob is over 10lvls it doesn’t drop anything
Can’t even get anything from mining it if it’s that high level
well, obviously you’re level 19 so 10+ levels higher is a level 29+, that could be viewed as a challenge for your level.

Interesting, I’ve never heard it called a challenge mob, I kinda like that term. Cuz like 3levels higher is boss level if it’s elite right challenge mob, it’s got a ring to it
But yea I’ve tested this for some time now, if it’s over 10 levels you can’t really get anything for interacting with it (whatever mob that is)
I’m not sure the reasoning for this, perhaps people farming or something but since the squish I feel like that kinda resolved that so worst case I just get something higher item level with a level requirement to high, that then I can save and use for later when I’m that level so… I don’t get why this is mechanic is even in the game
depends on the mob, not everything has something drop. The only mobs that will generally drop something are rares (silver elites) gold elites are just powered normal mobs that mostly drop vendor grey trash and a few copper.
Right, get on a low level toon and defeat a boss level or rare level mob +10 levels your level with a friend that of or higher level to help you and see what drops…. I’ll wait lol

Which content is the issue? Which zone? I know in Legion there are some unscaled level 45 mobs that won’t drop loot if a lower level kills them. I play mixed groups all the time, and what you have observed is not common.
What mobs exactly? Where are you? Is it a rare? Is it a regular mob? Is it a quest mob? Why is it 10 levels above you?
This isn’t detail we can even answer.

On this character? When I am in mixed groups, the low levels get to loot also.
Yea but what content are you doing, I’m talking open world, not content that scales to them
Could be dungeons too but we wouldn’t be able to get into a dungeon that’s over 10 levels higher so that doesn’t really count
If the mob scales then yea that’s fine but I’m talking for example I go to a zone with a level 30 mob, even if I win the fight, it won’t drop loot
There is very little open world content that does not scale anymore. There are some mobs that never drop loot for anyone.
